So my 96 xp would start sometimes and then all it would do was click every time I pressed the start button so I jumped the solenoid with a screw driver and the starter engaged. So I went inside to look up a new starter solenoid from the dealer. 43 freaking dollars!!!! So I said forget that and took out my solenoid and drilled the rivets out that hold it together and cleaned up the contacts in it and riveted it back together and it works perfect every time!!!! What it looked like inside. Barely any visible contacts haha

After I riveted it back together

Mats are down, Tiny tachs installed, ride plate is removed. Single gauge hood should be back tomorrow or Saturday from paint. All I have left is install that and bolt on the battery for electrical system double check. So pumped to ride!

Ok here's mine;)

Thanks blairwill4. It took a lot of work and time and $$$$ to make them look like that. But I'm very happy how they both turned out. When I got them they both looked like turds but I breathed new life into them. I think they look great and NOBODY has anything like them. Here's a back shot of the 97 SPX...

Mano that hump seat is just pure heavenly bliss. I would just spend hours in the garage staring at it lol

Yes and I paid so little for it and did not even recover it! What a deal!!! Oh and it TOTALLY works!!!! Keeps my ass on the ski!!! I love it!!! I can see why they are rare.

Well after months and months of searching I finally bought an 800 X4. I had been hoping to find a decent one in the 800-1000 range that I could work on but here in MN that is next to impossible. So this one came up for sale and I thought for a few hundred more it was worth it to get a mint one.

It's a single owner, I got all the original paperwork, certificate of origin, letter from the VP, it was bought new in the spring of '99 for $5,179.38 by a local guy who kept it on a lift at his cabin along with 2 other skis. He owns a huge building supply yard so he would winterize it every year and then store it on a mezzanine in a heated room they use to store old paperwork and files. It has been in that room since 2010. There literally is not a scratch on the top side, there is one small spider web though, on the bottom side it does have a gouge from the trailer winch stand.

I brought it to Nick's shop last night to get the original hours off it but the MPEM has been replaced 11 hours ago. I also bought carb rebuild kits, oil filter and oil lines while I was there - which I'll be doing this weekend along with changing the gray fuel lines.
Wow that thing is minty fresh!!! I got the same one and if you never rode an 800 x4 you better get ready! That thing rips!!! I'm not joking. That machine will hurt you if your not ready! ;)

My lineup, going to get some water shots of all three in the coming week. So stoked!

I guess I can add the parts unit in the back, although not a 787

Hey racer they look awesome!! Good luck riding this weekend! I got to ride TWICE THIS WEEK! The spx ran incredible. So much fun. You feel ALIVE when riding jetskis!!! I will be riding jetskis in the Caribbean this week though. VACATION BABY Oh yeah!!!:)

Thanks Mano. It's gonna be a fiberglass fest. I have been battling some setbacks with everything but the Speedster (it's like clockwork). I think/hope I have the HX water leak sorted out, had the starter get stuck out on the XP last Sunday. The new to me trailer was acting weird but seems to be working good now. So if they don't go, they will look good sitting still. Enjoy your trip.
