If I don't find a nos replacement I'm going to attempt to have a reproduction made. Just have to figure out the weld on it I know what the inside looks like

The hard part is getting the exact material, I have yet to find it. Allsport 4 way stretch is close in texture but off in color

Who was the oem manufacturer of it? Has anyone figured that part out yet? On second thought it was most likely custom dye lots to certain specs only used for bombardier.

I have no idea who it was. The really cool thing is they must have a fixture that they "fit" (mold) the cover too. NOS seat covers have the shape of the seat already, it's not just a flat piece of vinyl.

Mmmm probably vacuum and heated to give it the molded shape. If someone would not have put staples through the edge of the one on there now it would be fine. I just don't like how it looks atm.

I have close to $600 in 2 hump seats, another one from my 95 that is on my 98 SPX that needs a seat cover. The guy I got my 95 from duplicated the mold line on the hump seat and it looked fantastic. He used some glue to adhere the seat to the tab that goes thru the seat but sitting in the sun popped the glue. You actually need a vinyl welder to do it correctly. I think he used a coat hanger and 2x4's.

Im catching up here!,you guys are fun .. Braley, back to 787 rpm and EGT. We run 7450 on limited spec 787 all day on pump gas. Finally grenaded counter balancer. EGT is a sneaky critter. We ran race xpl 1050 at 1200 mark. Granted, race gas , twin pipes. My buddies long twins nearly tipped 1300 degrees and lived for years. EGT ( or afr)can be be very deceptive. Rich condition has low egt , lean has high temp. The death blow is deto nation actually drops egt temp, thus tricking you into leaning out carbs and burn dwn. Btw Argentina got it going on!

I'd like to know how the pump gas 787 that turned 7450 was timed and it's top speed. I've worked a lot on those. I'm just starting to tune my twin piped XPL that one is all new to me.

Msd enhancer. Plus 2 degrees. Seriously Matt, beat this thing senseless. Irionically on one rebuild it ended up with Group K rec ported cylinders, made no difference on rpm. Race boats in the day we spun 7700. Flywheels were ejecting out of hull. We spun 7450 on xpl 1050 short twins at WF . Bad things happen to 951 mtrs beyond 7200 range, trust me. Trick to rpm in 787 pipes is heating them up. Well tuned limited will cook black coating off lower chamber. Head pipe jet at 80 works best. Shut ecwi off at 6500 rpm.

Yes I'm an MSD Enhansersmith. I like them also but always hit 1100 degress at around 7250rpm. I should say that is always propped and nozzled to achieve my high speeds so it's under load.

What are your egt's on the 787, you didn't mention, you only mention about rpm.

Its a rec boat .. no egt. I can tune a rec boat by ear, and plug check. Race boat needs egt. Mixing a little race 110 leaded certainly create a safety net

How can egt's be deceptive? Temperatures are temperatures right?

I have been buying these 787 eBay $45 starters, shipped, and they have done very well

I just put a new bendix and brushes in mine. Been working well for me, but I bet those 45$ starters have the same brushes and bendix that I buy...

IDO I tried rebuilding many starters. Fail but what do I know I do I know, I own a 12 volt stereo shop. The trick and lose old starter motors is original SD was a 9 tooth starter and the next generation was an 8 tooth star which made significant increase in cranking speed. These boats will not start via ignition system voltage gets too low. Hence why they always start out of the water with no resistance

I've snapped shafts on the first crank with those cheapo Chinese starters. They are just about guaranteed to strand you on the lake early in their lives.

Yep, they're a pos. I buy genuine nippondenso replacement parts for my starters.
