How true.....
Jr, it's good to see that you have good knowledge of the topic for which you make an educated statement. So many people these days try to make a point when their so ill informed.
At the moment, I attend the University of South Alabama, working on a degree in engineering. What you say about research, is true. Sometimes, the person who's research has rose colored glasses on, will see things a bit toward the left, where as someone else doing the same research may not need glasses and their research is a little more accurate.
My conclusion on the idea that man does contribute to the warming effect taking place right now, is an opinion that was formulated over several months, if not a year, by watching debates on this issue and the many studies that has been reported by several scientist who study climatology. One study I found interesting dealt with the little ice age and another warming trend that replaced the once green and life filled Sahara Desert, with a hot and desolate stretch of alomost lifeless land. In that study, the scientist showed the natural warming and cooling cycles of the earth, that are largely attributed with the cycles of the sun's magnetic field. In which is determined now by the sun's active sunspots. But in that same graph, they show the changes in degrees and how those cycles have been affected in the last 100 years and it's amazing. They use calculations not just based on rising temperature, but the amounts of methane, nitrogen and other gases being retained in our atmosphere.
Looking at these results on a graph, to me, are the easiest ways to interpret the results of these studies. Which like I said, are the consensus of the majority in the science community. At present, the World Health Organization is working on getting industrialized countries around the world to come to some agreement in limiting the amount of C02 and other emissions their countries contribute to the warming trend.
But, like so many, they don't think global warming is real. When we destroy our atmosphere and have to wear cloaks to keep from being exposed to the suns radiation and lose the ability to release heat back into space is, it'll be to late. Civilization as we know it will become extinct. But you know what? When we're all gone, the earth will still be here. It may take millions of years, but the earth will once again recover as it has before. Then, a new race will start anew...........and if life is intelligent, maybe they'll find clues of our existance and realize what our mistakes were and not let history repeat itself............Just the opinion of a rambling old man.
