I've been trying to split my Super the last couple of days and I can't seem to figure out how to get it done without braking anything or just straight up shoving a screwdriver in the crack and prying it apart. Anyone have a suggestion or a trick that has worked well in the past. So far I've been just beating the crap out of it with a rubber mallet and a 2X4 and a hammer.

just to clarify, the super is off the boat and I have the rebuild kit, I am trying to split the case to rebuild it and I can't get it to give at all.

If you don't have the tools I would STRONGLY suggest you send it to someone to do. They need to set the slip and check everything. You want this done right. I believe the place I used charged $89. Its a guy on Green Hulk. Good Luck

I consider myself an above average person when it comes to mechanics and understanding how things work.

That said, for the small money I think unwound pay someone that has done the SC rebuild before.

I might buy a spare and then be willing to do the job myself.

It would be more of a downtime issue for me. We have such a limited time to ride in Ohio as it is.
