Stick in prop

I sucked a stick into the prop and jammed it on my 2003 seadoo gtx supercharged. I idled it back to the boat launch which took about 10 min. The engine stayed about 100 deg. the whole time and I never got any alarms in. What damage could I have done running it with a jammed prop?? What do you do when this happens in the middle of the lake?? Is there some kind of clutch assembley that allows the engine to run with a jammed prop?? Thanks

Lots of impeller threads in this forum, perform some searches.

The impeller is designed to take in some debris, rocks and sticks obviously may cause damage if they don't clear. Depending on how much damage to the impeller, a good shop can machine/smooth out any dings. Likely your wear-ring will need inspection/replacement as well.

You can idle/cruise back to shore in most cases and you probably didn't do much further damage than what was already done. Took me 15mins to get across the lake during my rock ingestion last weekend.

There is no clutch, it's direct drive. Your impeller did not stop turning. The stick did not jam the impeller, it just caused the impeller to cavitate and lose all thrust.
