I have replaced the pick-up sensor for Speedo at rear. Even had sea doo dealer give me another to try. Have tried also new Speedo. Also electrical grease in connection plug to Speedo. Also tested at rear of boat for power to pick-up sensor all good. Tested at plug to Speedo for power all good. I can not figure this one out any suggestion would be great.

I added a speedometer to my 96GSX and found out you really don't need to go through the mpem. You can connect the gauge directly to the speed sensor and just hook the 12v. (purple/black wire) to the other gauge and the ground (tan I think) to ground. You might want to check your wiring diagram to check and see if I'm correct on the colors.

There was a thread on the process, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

ok, now that you have proved the power supply side, check the ground wire or - side of the gauge...

Thank you Pale rider. But I am not sure what you mean side of gauge? I pretty handy but only because I research and listen well lol... So any help on how to test that (insrtuctions)would be really appreciated. Thank-You oh by the way great re-store you did.

Thank-You LouDoo. I would like to keep it all origanal. So thats a great idea but I think I want to make sure I have done everthing possible before I say its the mpem. So I just might be going that route thanks for info much appreciated.

thanks...

the negative wire for the gauge or ground wire may have a short or break somewhere. try and find which wire, usually black, and sometime black with a tracer, but check and be sure, then make the ground connection to a known good ground and see if that changes anything...
after reading your post, you pretty much tested that you have power and continuity, only thing left is the ground... I am not sure how the speedo interacts with the MPEM if at all, if you have power at the gauge and sender an all know to be good, not much else to check... Maybe the Doc would know...
just be careful with the electrical...
