i bought this house 12 years ago, has a trane weathertron 3 ton unit, was 3 yrs old then, now is 15 yrs old, and inside unit leaking, i'm gonna change out whole unit, current unit is a 12 seer -- any a/c guys out there ??? im looking at a ruud unit and a goodman -- both 3 ton 13 seer -- any suggestions ????

What ever you do, make sure the company (installer) you choose is a Authorized dealer for that brand. Just because they sell it doesn't mean they are a "authorized" dealer. Check the brand website for "good" dealers.
Brands will give Authorized dealer longer and better warranties too sometimes.
Just because it's a cheaper price doesn't mean it's a better buy. Get 2-3 estimates preferably for the same brand, so you can compare apples to apples.
