I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions for boat covers that can handle a New England winter? I feel like wrapping is just throwing my money out the window!

Plus, my covers are torn, so I'm hoping to find something that will take double duty of winter and summer cover needs.

I shrink wrap the boats. For the jet skis, I put on their regular summer covers and then throw a tarp over that. It just doesn't make sense to me to pay over $100 for shrink wrap when the covers I get are only $100. Worked like a charm last year and the covers didn't even get ruined. I will be doing the same this year.

I have only one time been forced to leave my skis outside during winter. As I owned a boat, I bought everything needed to shrink wrap the boat, so I shrink wrapped my skis that year If nothing else, put the regular cover on it and then tarp it TIGHT so there are no dips in it.

Shrink wrapping is awesome. The boat is preserved perfectly over the winter. No water, no ice, no stains, no critters. My only complaint is you can't go work on the boat if you get a nice day once it's covered.

I owned everything needed to shrink wrap. I did my skis and boat. One thing I always did and it worked great was, buy a CHEAP Bag of charcoal, the kind that has no coating on it, put a plastic bag down on the deck and slice the charcoal bag wide open. It absorbs any moisture, smells and prevents mold.
