Hi,
Newb looking for a quick fix for rope stuck in impeller.
Any vids or pics on how to do this. Friend of mine said he paid $500 to fix his seadoo when it happened to him.

Have you tried taking the screen off and Untangle it. If that doesn't work gonna have to take the whole jet pump out with the impeller!

There a DIY for taking off the jet pump?
Would hate to 500$ for something I could prob do myself

The wear ring the is the white plastic or black plastic "ring" that surrounds the impeller. It's supposed to fit very tight. 2014-07-16 07.21.01.jpg

If it has groves in it that can rob your performance.
Oh yeah congratulations on doing the fix yourself. You have chosen the blue pill and be free of the dealer.

Ya ... Dealer said it was gonna be 400-$500.. Took me half an hr
Going to take it back off and check wear ring!
Thx

Yeah, it's best to cut the rope out as opposed to trying to yank it out, else might bend the impeller or drive shaft.

It it vibrates, the drive shaft may have gotten bent.

I got to the point, where I can get the pump off/on in about 15 mins. In doing a drive shaft/carbon seal I took my pump on/off a bunch. So the total repair should have been about 90 at the most assuming a repair rate of 80 an hour (I can be wrong on that). Charging a couple hundred bucks is why the dealership is called the steelership.
