Hi Guys,

I'm new to both the forum and Jet Ski's, so forgive me for asking some stupid questions. I'm trying to learn.

Anyways, i got my XP about a month ago. Everything was going fine, until recently, it just won't start up. It clicks over and over and the crack-shaft (i think its called) struggles to turn over.

Had a friend over who knows a thing or two about cars, and he thinks its a starter problem.

We're having great weather at the moment in Ireland, which doesn't usually last, as it loves to rain here a lot.lol. So it's killing me i can't get my new ski out :(

Any help, or suggestions i'll be most grateful.

Joey

sounds like a weak voltage signal, have your battery tested and make sure it is fully charged, then proceed in checking all your connections, check that main ground and starter hot cables connections for corrosion broken wires, if the engine will just not turn over easy, or not at all but at least trys then pull the plugs and see if it will turn over easy, also pull those plugs and see if you can turn the motor over easy by hand.

Same problem with XP

Hello, everyone. I have the same problem listed here. Hope I am not hijacking this thread. I have a 97 XP. Hooked up a battery, and didn't have any response with the engine start switch. Looked and found blown fuse, replaced it. Now I just bought these today, and was working on it. Someone had taken the spark plugs out. So when I got engine to turn over, seemed good. Good compression, or at least with holding my hand over cylinder hole. Did not use compression guage. Installed new spark plugs, engine would not turn over. Took the front spark plug out and engine would spin very fast. Installed front plug back in and removed rear spark plug. Engine would not turn over. Now I know I have a very good 12v battery, because I was using a car battery for the moment. I can remove both spark plugs and turn engine over by hand. Anyone got an idea what it might could be. I have removed engine, but not tore down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....Turboman
