A little background info for any local forum members to be aware. When I got the ski it was in rough condition cosmetically and also mechanically. I just got it to pull the Grandkids around on tubes and give them rides. I didn't want anything fancy. It did run well though, maybe not race worthy well but it did go plenty fast and it starts right up. It did not turn left and it did burn some oil but it ran good. So I bring it to my local Jet ski dealer I wont use the name but it is located in Gulfport Mississippi and I think its the only one so they have a monopoly. I bring it to them and tell them, "fix the steering and let me know why its burning oil, check the compression and if you see anything else that's obvious let me know" Now I figure, ok I'll get it back and it will turn left and right I'm only going to use it to tow the grandkids so if it uses a bit of oil I can live with that, if it costs a few hundred then ok. Two weeks go by still haven't heard back from the dealership so I call. The owner gets on the phone and tells me the ski is junk not worth fixing and you owe us $400. So I asked him did you fix the steering at least? Nope. so why is the bill $400? Well we tore it all apart to see what it needed that's the labor cost and we didn't want to bill you any more money as the ski is worthless. I said "it runs good uses oil I just want it to turn". I'll just keep an eye on the oil level. He says just come pick it up we have real nice skis I can sell you. I just spent all my extra money on this ski so no thank you. I bring the ski home and it is all in pieces. The outside looked fine but when I got home and opened it up they had totally dismantled it and I mean took it all apart to the point no one would bother to work on it forcing me to buy a new ski from them. Well I put a new steering support in so it will turn left and right, it took two hours and cost $74. I'm not a Jet ski Mechanic but I am a Mechanic and have been for 30+ years so I'm putting it all back together myself and its taken weeks but it runs and as soon as I get all the hoses back on I will splash it and use it. SO, BEWARE OF THE JET SKI DEALER IN GULFPORT MISSISSIPPI!!! You have been warned. I honestly believe they did this to sell me one of their skis because the owner kept saying " I can put you in a used ski that's 100% why bother with this one". Needless to say I will never go back there. So all and any Forum members in the Mississippi gulf coast watch out for this place.
