Hello everybody!
I had to replace both my pumps and impellers do to several rock 'encounters' last season. The port side went together great. Motor can turn over nice and storng. On the starboard side, when I torque down the bottom two pump housing nuts the pump shaft binds up when the motor kicks over.
I have found by added washers to the bottom studs the binding stops, mostly. I'm hoping the neoprene ring will take up the slack.
My question is would it be better to put the washers behind the mount plate?
Anyone else have this problem? How did you fix it?
Other notes:
Went from plastic to brass housings.
There is a hole in the mount that I will be JB'ing in.
