How can they charge a documentation fee and registration fee in two separate charges when they are the same??? Hmmm... Damn that's crazy. I mean I would understand if it was much less but 1500 bucks in fees. I paid less than the fees for my spx running. Lol. Sounds like dealers are lookin to pad profits!!! I understand makin a profit but profit and greed are two different things!!!

There is no way in hell that Im gonna buy that ski for that kind of money ,those guys at the dealer are crazy . Here in South Florida all the dealership will eat you alive with hidden and stupid fees . I would not pay a penny over 7000 out the door for a spark

you might want to consider lake placid marine as an alternative... Going to Riva and expecting anything to be at or under budget is expecting a miracle....

Thats over 2000 dollars on top of the 6200 mrsp , and for me thats too much , you add the price of a new trailer to that and it gets close to 9000 dollars . Where did the affortability go ??? ...

quite honeslty, for 9K you can probably buy two low hour RXP's on a double trailer right now.... I think i'd rather have two RXP's vs's one spark.

Yep.. I went last night to get my price on a 2up 90HO WITH IBR.. My dealership had a bunch on order already, But no 2up 90HO with IBR as of yet. The price for a 2up 90HO with IBR was $6399.00 ( No convenience package ) .
Price out the door was $8873.00
So $ 2474.00 was tax, shipping, doc fees and interest. ( 6.9% )

With 1500 down.. my payments would be around $ 130.00. ( of course that's 72 months ! ) Forget that !
payments will be around $ 220.00 for 36 months.

From what I heard they will not be producing 2up 90HO's with IBR until Feb anyways.. so The time it delivers I should have much more for a down anyways.

My bank (PSECU) lets me refi my car any time, or take a new loan against it, if I own it.

so I can do a 72 month at 2.99% and make it tax deductible with a home owner courtesy lien.

so.. i can buy it cash at the dealer, and never risk my money on it... just my car lol.

but hey 2.99% and tax deductible... no prepayment penalty either.

this is how I plan to buy my next toy (boat)... pay off an expensive truck, then take a 'new' loan against it w/the low APR, then pay cash for said boat...

Dealerships are going nutssss with fees , in my case I would have to pay up to 30% of the ski value in fees alone .
I think the best deal would be financing somewhere else and walking in the dealership with a check or cash and only pay msrp + tax .

I think I'm going to just wait a year or two an buy a used one and keep riding my XP for a few years

Well.. I found a better deal at a smaller dealer.. It was such a good deal, I already put my deposit down.

Ride Now quoted me $ 6399.00 MSRP ( 2up 900HO w IBR )
(Large Superstore) $ 622.45 Tax
$ 697.63 Freight
$ 588.00 Assembly and Build
$ 349.95 Doc Fee
Total Out the door $ 8657.03

Desert Dog quoted me $ 6399.00 MSRP ( 2up 900HO w IBR )
( Small Dealership ) $ 569.00 Tax
$ 395.00 Freight
$ 0.00 Assembly and Build
$ 0.00 Doc Fee
Total Out the door $ 7363.00

Almost a $1300.00 difference ! I guess the margins on the Sparks are extremely low for the dealerships.. Seadoo is telling them to bump up the additional charges if they want to make a decent margin. But come on.. $ 588.00 for assembly? Thats nuts !

Well my word of advice .. look around , get many quotes. I think I stumbled upon the best deal so far and its in writing !
( Not to mention its a dealer I have been going to for years ) .

Thats a way better deal indeed .. does that includes trailer ???

Don't need another trailer.. lol I already have a 3 position Zieman and a single Seadoo I-Catch we don't use much.

But your right.. its a huge money saving difference ! :)

Im guessing I wont get it until February ( thats just a good guess ) .. the later the better. Im in no hurry. Seasons over and more time to save for a bigger down payment.
Desert Dog already took delivery on two 3ups..I think they are the first in the valley to take delivery on the Spark.20131101_135105_resized.jpg

Also by next year Spark prices should stabilize as inventories increase, capitalism at work.

I called a dealer near Buffalo NY and was told that they are are told by BRP they are not allowed to sell to Canadians or they will face penalties.

I have decided to hold off taking my delivery till next year as well, it turns out the Spark uses 3 times as much fuel at 50 mph than Sea-Doo told us it would be using. The Spark will consume around 7-8 Gallons per hour of fuel per hour. A complete tankful of fuel will last you less than 1 hour if you are riding at 50 mph.
Sea-Doo advertised the 90 HP Spark as using 2.4 GPH, I guess that hour included some idleing, some drifting, and maybe a lunch break as well.

That is a substantial amount if fuel for a light weight ski.

Thats crazy,,,,, so how do they get their figures for GPH, idling at the dock, Fuel consumption was one of the foremost reasons I was going to upgrade, going to wait now for real world #s. It is not like anyone is going to idle around the lake on their new spark , grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:(

I never pay for a "dealer prep fee" that should be included in the MSRP. Doc fees in some states are actually regulated so if any dealer is charging stupid money on it check to see if they are breaking the law. Also, I have never paid a "destination fee" on any of my power sport toys that I bought new. Destination fee on car, yes but not on a toy (power sport). IMO this is another tactic to increase margins. As a consumer I would be pissed walking into a dealer thinking i could get a new Spark for around $5k only to find out there is a 20-30% markup in "fees". I would laugh right at the dealers doing this and walk out.

I went to my local dealer in Naples yesterday and had a look see at a 2-up 90hp. $7,017.48 out the door. $5,899 (they're charging for the free storage bin kit, it's promo'd 'til the end of the year) + $450 freight, + dealer filing , battery tax, sales tax, doc (title) and license $644.48. They have around a dozen on the floor and the white 90hp was still in the crate out back.
On the print out they gave me shows the model as 60EF; what they trying to sell me? is there an engine code in the VIN?
Another observation: made in Mexico, but not available in MX yet.
