I have a 1996 SPX. The 7.5a fuse in the main box blows right away when I replace it. Took the system apart and everything moves freely, motor works fine when connected to 12v supply. I am not sure whats in the sealed box behind the motor but could that be causing it? Any help will be good. Thanks

Stuff to try

pretty much in the box contains relays and the sensor for the trim gauge you might be having a issue with the motor pulling more amps that what the fuse can give it i dont recommend it but you can try putting a 10amp fuse and see if it blows if it doesn't your motor might be going out. I have a 10 amp fuse in mine and it works just like the 7.5 amp fuse mine was pulling 7.6 amps so it kept blowing the 7.5 amp go figure!

I tried the 10amp fuse and it blows right away too. The motor seems to run very smoothly, I have not measure the amp draw.
