Port Side Reverse Gate

Alright, have you ever heard of this. My 2010 Challenger 210 with 16 hours on it is missing the port side reverse gate. The thing broke clean off right on the inside tab where it connects to the Reverse gate support. It broke where the metal is thinest and all that is left are where the two screws attach to the reverse rod. Looks like metal fatigue as there are no marks to indicate it was hit by anything. Also, I don't remember any unusual bumps or thuds. Has anyone else had this happen? Would it be covered by warranty?

Update:

My local dealer told me the reverse gate would not be covered by warranty since there was no way to tell that I didn't hit anything (although there are no marks or scratches on the boat), and it will cost $920 to fix it. Since I was not happy with that answer, I called BRP customer service and they suggested I have my dealer call the technical service line. After I got the service manger to make the call it was covered by warranty.

I hate to be skeptical but it seems to me the dealer never made an effort to cover the original repair under warranty. I am sure the warranty reimbursement to my dealer will be much less than the $920 I was quoted. I just seems to be such a shame that you have to work so hard with a Sea-Doo dealer to get the customer service you would expect after purchasing a $35K boat.

You're lucky BRP will cover this!
Those are way to easy to break off.
Full speed forward, then shift it backwards with a little throttle for added fun and voila! Clean break, no signs of hitting it.
I should know, broke my second one this w-e .
The fun factor quickly disappears when you realize you broke it and the cost is going to be over 700$ and some fixing.
