I am 99% positive it was a lack of oil now, I do not believe that both carbs would lean out at the same time, if you notice they are divided from their respective cylinders.
Follow the book test for the oil pump, or it was the filter before the pump stopped up.

There is a repair for the rotary valve cover, you being a machinist you might be able to tackle it.
Otherwise their on ebay.

If you have anymore questions, maybe another thread.

Thanks for figuring that out for me! I will test the pump and replace the filter if I decide to not go with premix. That sucks I have to replace or repair that cover, one thing after another with this boat I guess that's how it goes with used toys. Anyway thanks I apreciate it!

If you figure out the repair, I have many that need it.
maybe a bridgeport job, do not know.
I only have hand tools.

Also don't feel bad about the repair, it could have been the block to, i have tossed some relly nice blocks because of scoring in the rv cavity.

Yea the cylinder walls were a mess also!

You may as well pull a two-stroker down after the first partial seizure occurs, because of the aluminum that's deposited on the cylinder wall. Sometimes if the seizure wasn't bad, cleaning up the deposited aluminum can get you back going again. This is another reason I appreciate power valves hanging off the exhaust ports, they make periodic inspection super easy if there's ever any question.

I have full acsess to the cnc's at work so repair might be an option don't know yet have to read up on it. Thinking it might just need a few thousands machined off of it.

Yes thank god the blocks all good valve covers are cheap in comparison!
