Pet peeve: "kudos"

I don't know why but every time I hear or see that word I get a little agitated. I think it's because I basically dont understand the word. So maybe some one out there can answer a few questions.

What exactly does it mean?

Where did it come from?

Is it derived from the english language?

Is it a noun? A verb? An acronym? Slang?

Does anybody else find it annoying or am I the only one?

mmmm I just used that word in another post. But actually Kudos (from Greek κῦδος, meaning 'glory') is a singular English word meaning acclaim or praise for exceptional achievement.
Also is a Finish word meaning Tissue from the human/animal body.

Example: My Kudos to (Dr Honda/Dennis/Chester, Etc) for the help he gave me.

I dun asked Otis but he sed that ifin I had to ask that I didn't deserve to know. I don't ritely no war my peeve came from. Otis says thars a feller jest north of Beaver Lick that has some. Maybe it got loose and wondered down this way.

I don't reacon I know that feller that's got the peeves, Pa thought the ole yeller had fleas but it turned out he had kudos. We has us a dog dippin and done got rid of em.

I remembers a few years back that sum feller had him a coon hound that had itself the rabies. That there coon hound was jist a terin folks up. I thinks it was in all the papers. Anyhows I is purdy sure his a name was Kudos

I want to thank everybody for trying to help me with my peeve situation. It's become clear the word (or whatever it is) will continue to piss me off. I guess I'll just spend the rest of my life trying to get my left eye to stop twitching whenever I see or hear the word or whatever it is.
