OMG the US Postal Service is worthless!!

I finally got my carbs packaged up last Tuesday and shipped to Dr Honda to be rebuilt. I shipped them priority mail and was told that they should arrive to him on Thursday. Thursday came, no carbs. Friday came, no carbs. I tried tracking the package, but the last entry was from Wednesday morning saying that they had left the sorting facility. I called the USPS and finally got in touch with a real person, who could not tell me where the package was because it "fell off the radar". I called again in the afternoon and got someone who said that they were found and in the Pittsburgh main office being sent on. Well, I signed up for notifications, just because they seemed to not know diddly. I got an email Saturday night saying that the package was in Allen Park, MI at the sorting facility. Well crap, that was where it supposedly was sorted on Wednesday!! I wonder how it was in Pittsburgh and then maigically materialized back in Allen Park?

Sigh, I should have gone with UPS or FedEx, at least they have some sort of real time tracking of their pacakages, to some degree. Will never use the USPS for any package shipments from now on... And they wonder why people use alternatives nowadays...
 
Then they sat "help save the us postal service" lol. I have 2 packages that lwft jubes 1 and june 2 fron the distribution center and still hasn't arrived nor updated
 
i buy and sell a lot on ebay and mainly use usps. Ive had quite a few mishaps like that lately. I had an item i needed last week by tues. Tues morning it was through sorting in cincinnati which means it should be at my post office 15 miles from cincinnati the same day. It ended up then going to idaho where it spent 2 days going through their sorting where it was tracked as through sorting, then the next day back in idaho...It finally made it to me sat, 4 days late. They have gotten quite pathetic. When they lose a package or have a delay they just blow it off and dont have any recourse. Seems to me since i paid for priority shipping and it took 10 days i should be due a refund...nope. They have also totally lost items ive shipped, costing me replacement cost. If they totally lose stuff, no big deal to them. Its your cost...unless you bought their outrageous insurance.
 
Ups just did that for me. Ordered springs to replace the airbags on my friends navigator that he was dependant on. Was only supposed to take a day, took 9
 
I ship almost everything with USPS from my shop, because UPS was taking longer, and longer. (and getting expensive)

I'm not sure why it got so screwed up. Anyway... I have to do a pick up on them tomorrow. I normally don't have to. I wonder if there is another prob?
 
The catch with the insuring aspect of USPS is, no matter how much you insure it for, they will only pay what it takes to replace the item for and no more than your max that you insured it for.

What's the sense to insure it for thousands and pay the premium if you can't get reimbursed.

I understand why you do it as they take better control of it it seems. Just a screwy policy...
