ya, on the stupid polaris motor i've been trying to sell for 6 months, I got spammed by at least 50 women who found my motor intriguing and wanted to get together for "fun times" drove me nuts ! they finally quit about mid february... it went on for a good 45 days. is this really what people do for a living ?
I have broken Xbox with 12 controllers and 200 games, you trade cash on your end? Can you also help my friend escape Nigeria? Only 20000 USD he is a prince and will give you 1M USD upon his safe arrival here.
LOVE craigslist.... But lately I have noticed that you don't get the other persons email, it all gets routed through the cl address.
noticed that this morning myself... on a response I had,,, but I don't think my reply gets filtered anymore.. not sure.
thought I might get a yahoo/hotmail address just for reply's so i can avoid spam to my real email, I hate hate hate spam.
I hate the "still available" scams,,, i'm about to just stop replying to them... starting to wonder why I haven't
just had it two days ago on a ski for sale. you know for sure they're scamming when they say "have a blessed day" gives honest Christians a bad name, but honestly i'm leery even if I see a listing that says "God bless", always makes me suspicious.
here was my response to the "ya its still for sale" email.
Thanks for the quick response about the inquiry. Am quite comfortable with the item and would not mind adding an extra$50 to your asking price to keep the item in my favor. I would love to have been there for inspection but am be embarking on a 2-8weeks radiotherapy treatment tomorrow morning unfailingly. I am paying by Bank Certified Check and will be sure it gets to you by express mail if you consider selling to me. Most people do not accept check these days considering the fear behind it but i want to assure you i will not make pick up arrangement until you have your cash at hand. You may not have to worry about pick up as i have a Mover to handle it.
I will make arrangement for the pick-up after payment has been received and you have your cash at hand.I believe you will find other interested buyers within and afar but it's quite important i get this. I will be more than glad if it could be sold to me. Kindly get back to me with your full name, mailing address and phone number for check payment. I'll be waiting anxiously to hear back from you.
Thanks and have a Blessed Day.
Lisa
jerks !
this guy is such a dickhead on my opinion
http://gainesville.craigslist.org/pts/3707767831.html
so I say "Hi, I was wondering how much are you asking for the whole car? thanks"
he says "offer" (I hate it when people do that, cause you have idea what they want or think it's worth)
I say "$400?"
he says "Message me back when you get a job"
lol, in some ways i wouldn't even say i lowballed him, sure the parts are worth way more than that separately, but to get that car back together, it's with that mileage, it might not even be worth 2K in good shape, and it'd would def take a lot of labor and parts to get put back together
If he asking about the ski, then how do you know it was a scammer?
What's the secret about getting to know scammers from honest to goodness people?
Just an opinion needed here.....my buddy and I were selling a seadoo, and the potential purchaser wanted to ride it
first. No problem - there's a free launch in a major river 10 minutes from us. Nope guy won't do it - "doesn't feel comfortable
in the river"... SO you guys bring it to the small lake where I have a cabin - it's about 45 min each way plus gas, time for the test
etc. We say nope too far away. We'll take it to the closest launch otherwise (a river inlet) BUT it's $17 to launch and $7 each
way for the bridge tolls - but you (potential buyer) will have to foot the bill for the launch and tolls. Potential buyer says
nope I'm not covering it. We say then go away. Are we wrong here?
Nope,
Water test at your choice. River/Lake still a body of water to see it floats and runs.
Take it where ever you want afterwards.
Otherwise he should pay!
Good we thought so too. He was just an unreasonable jerk about it. He couldn't fathom why we didn't want to
blow off over 2 hours to *maybe* him purchasing it, or why we weren't willing to fork over $29 (not incl gas)
for the privilege him riding it. I was waiting for him to hit us up for a mechanics bill to inspect the thing.
We've just never (believe it or not) ran into such a jerk. Although we did have a guy who wanted us to discount
the machine $150 immediately as he had to pay for a ferry ride in order to come and look at it...plus drive to the ferry
(45 min minimum) to show it to him. :banghead:
A pretty mint 2002 RXDI. Yes I know the DI bad press but this has been a great machine. Only 112 hours too.
Says the person who either spent money getting it right or the lucky one that got a good one
It does sound like a barn find!
