Ok, I charged the battery the whole night, and the boat finally started this morning...

When I tried to restart it, all I hear is a "Thud" sound, like if the starter on a car is bad sound.

Took the spark plugs out, same thing, just the "thud" sound...

What do you guys think? thanks in advance..

If the battery is dead... putting it on the charger won't help. Sounds like the battery needs replaced.

But... you know the drill... make sure the drive-line can spin free.

Thanks Dr.! I did that "before" you even said it :), im getting good at this DOC, lol, removed the plastic nuts covering the PTO, and it moved freely...

Guess what? I played around with the negative wire (moved it around a bit), and bam, it started turning with the plugs out, now, I know this thing likes good gasoline, so the gas in there is 9 months old.. no bueno.... plus its kinda low on gas, so I moved it to reserve gas, threw gasoline in the holes, the same ritual over and over again.. untill.. finally I got it started, I left it on a good while (by pulling the choke, and giving it some gas), after a while i turned it off..

The biggest concern I have now Doc, is that 3 times it acted like there wasnt any electricity at all??? It didnt do absolulety anything, no red lights, nada,.. I then tightened the battery cables, moved the red and black cables from the MPEM (just moved it around), and finally got some electricity flowing again.. thats creepy? what can that be?

Sorry Doc, forgot to tell you this is a brand new battery, but it could be bad, put the tender says its ok?

Check both battery cables for corrosion and make sure they aren't all brittle on the ends. Sounds like a bad wire or connection. Follow the cables, especially the ground. Make sure it's good at the other end and tight.

Thanks Rfoster, have you heard of this before?, also could it also be a starter going bad? If it is the starter, is there a easy way to get in there? do I have to remove blue pipe? lol thanks...

During the times that it won't do anything, do you still get the 2 beeps when you put the lanyard or, or do you totally get nothing?

I changed the horn last year with the radio shack one, it was working, and now it doesn't, funny I think it beeped twice only once this year.. Just changed battery, but it could be the brand new battery... Wow these batteries are something else, because my xp acts the same way, even with new battery, by the way, the battery light is on (red)..

Do you think I can be that unlucky to get 3 bad batteries in a row? (2 for my xp, and 1 for the sportster)...

ok for your question, during the times of nothing, believe me I mean nothing, like if it doesn't even have battery connected...

You need to use a meter or test light and figure out if you are getting anything there. That makes diagnosing a lot easier. BUT since you aren't sure...do you get anything on your gauge when you put the lanyard on? If the times that it ascots up you get absolutely nothing, then i would suspect the main battery cables to have an issue. Like i said, check them good and check the main ground.
