Today when we went to use the GTX it would not crank, so I charged the battery and still got nothing. Here is what I have tested/ done so far.
1) jumped the terminals on the solenoid and it cranked (so I know the starter is good)
2) the gauges light up and work when the key is plugged in.
3) the gauges also light up when the start button is pushed.
4) Switched the batteries
5) 5 amp and 15 amp fuses are not blown
6) started and ran the ski by jumping the two terminals on the solenoid with a screwdriver (MPEM is good?)
Those five things point to the solenoid. So following the FSM I attempted to test the button and solenoid using a multimeter (I didn’t have much luck with that because I got the same results on the working 96.) I decided to switch the solenoids and got the same results, the 96 cranked but the 97 GTX did not. (both solenoids worked in the older ski)
Any help on what to look at next. Could the start/stop switch or key stud be bad even though they both appear to activate the MPEM?
Thanks in advance
