Well, over a month later I finally had a chance to dig into the electronics today and have decided that the starter is bad.
I tested voltage at the starter, 11ish volts, and not even a humm from the starter.
So, I pulled the starter and connected it directly to a charged battery and got the same results...nothing.

Any recommendations on a what brand/where to purchase a new starter?

YES, Don 't buy another starter. Get your OEM rebuilt, I've never done it but from I've read in SDF it's some what easy.
I would open it up and see what's up......bad brushes, bad wiring, etc.

Post what you find and the starter experts here will answer you quickly.

You WANT an OEM starter. So,, if yours is not an OEM, then buy a used one from Minnetonka4me. You will want to install a brush kit in it. I believe he will do it for you as well. But bottom line, OEM is the way to go. If your is OEM, remove the back plate and look at the brushes. I bet that is the only issue.

The one I took off looks like the generic one. It's black with no identifying marks/numbers.
I'll PM Minnetonka.

ive been looking through the the interwebz attempting to determine if the starter i have is OEM or el cheapo. Anyone have a picture of the OEM or info on how to identify it?

I got a chance to dig into the starter today. It is definitely the issue, rust and corrosion everywhere. Time to clean it up and rebuild it.

Yearly update time! Because that's how I roll.
Ordered a new to me reman'ed starter from a fellow forum member and it worked fantastically....until my one year old battery went kaput.

So I dove back into the hull a few days ago to begin my summer project...again.

Dropped in a new battery...again, pushed the go button, aaannnd "click."
Re-checked the the wiring, looked good. Pushed the button and it turned over but didn't crank.
Pulled the plugs to have a peek and there's oil everywhere. Pushed the button to blow the oil out and "click."
Time to test things. The problem was the start solenoid. Replaced it with the "new and improved" $50 party from the local dealer because they don't stock the $15 original style. Turns over every time now.
Got the oil blown out and she runs! Smoked a lot but, ran.

Time for a test run on the river.
Hauled her to the the river and backed down the ramp and she fired right up while on the trailer so, let's go of leash.
This is where the issues appear.
1. It seems to have a little fuel starvation at WOT. I'll clean the filters and rebuild the carb.
2. The oil light comes on and it loses power momentarily. Related to the fuel issue?
3.I didn't forget about the oil in the crank case. I believe it's the leaky crank shaft seals. I'm just going to put a valve in the oil line.
4. While idling through a no wake zone she just cut off. No beeps, no stutters, just off. Pushed the go button to restart her and... nothing. Not even a click.
While being dragged back to the ramp (my dad came along in his Whaler because something like this was bound to happen) I hit the button and she cranked up.
So, I unhooked and headed towards the ramp under my own power...for about 15 seconds, then she died again with no response from the go button again.
Still no alarms. The block doesn't seem over heated. Any ideas?

I have also seen a Seadoo start up on it's own, it was a bad MPEM.

Make sure you are running resistor plugs, it calls for BR7ES non resistor plugs will make the oil light come on and cause power issues with the MPEM due to RF interference

The random start ups were due to a bad start/stop button. A new switch and cover fixed that.
It needs new plugs anyway, I was holding off until we got the oil seeping issue better regulated.
