So I need a new trailer jack. the original one was having major issues when I got the boat 2 years ago. I bought a cheapo one at harbor freight last year for like $20. Well, you get what you pay for it. It is a piece of junk. The wheel wont even swivel. To get my boat in the gargage I have to back it in with the truck then turn it and move it diagonal by hand. So with a non pivoting wheel it is a pain in the butt. The wheel just slides across the floor and scuffs it up. I kick it when I need it to turn..lol

So this year I want to replace it with a good one. Fulton seems to make very good trailer products. I have been looking online. The better ones go for about 60 to 100 bucks. Then I came across their newest line the F2. This thing looks awesome. I was just curious if anyone out there has tried one. I found it on ebay for $128 shipped. I figure whats a few more bucks for something that is guaranteed for life.

Here is a link to one. They make a dual wheel and a single wide wheel.

I also will be replacing the winch. It is all rusty and beat up. I ordered a nice SeaSense one this morning. I will post up some pics when I replace both.

Me too usually. I ended up with crap from that theory. I ordered the one I posted the link to. I will post about it after I get it and put it on.

Please do.

I don't mind spending $$$ on a good product, but since I have a gravel driveway... I don't know if any of the pin jacks would make it easy to move my trailers around.

I've thought about buying a 2 wheel jack, and putting a small lawn tractor tire on it. The little plastic tires just dig in.

Yeah I agree that on an unstable surface, a big air inflated tire is the only way to go. Kinda makes me wonder why they dont put that type of tire on the jacks.

I just wanted to update with pics of the new jack. I went ahead and bought the Fulton F2. It comes in 2 options, a single wide wheel or a dual wheel. I read some reviews that the dual wheel was a pain sometimes so I opted for the single wide wheel. I got it out of the box and was kinda shocked. This thing is a beast. It is very well built. It is very heavy duty and comes with a lifetime warranty.

I got it installed in under 5 minutes. It has some nice features. It is very adjustable. You can adjust how high it actually mounts on the tongue, but I found it to be fine out of the box. When you arent using it, the handle has a little lock that keeps it from swinging around like most jacks. There is a lock on the wheel to keep the trailer from moving. So far I am very happy. I didnt move the trailer any yet, but it appears to work great. It was kinda expensive at $130, but I was tired of replacing the cheap jacks and it does have a lifetime warranty.

Here are a couple pictures. Notice how beefy it is compared to the cheapo jack.

I also swapped out the winch with a very nice one from SeaSense that had a black coating on it. I forgot pics though. I will add them later.

Yeah i am pretty sure it will last forever. At least the warranty will cover it that long.

Buddy i would put two of those wheel lock nuts on that thing...that ould suck to come back at the end of the day and that nice 130 buck jack have found another home..! something to think about! its happened around here

oh! my winch is shot too..so i will be looking for another ASAP..do you think an electric one would be overkill for our small boats?I saw something aesome called rope.a.boat-----until I saw the price tag...:o It basically loads and unloads the boat automatically with you in it..

I never thought about the locking nuts Greg, glad you mentioned that.

My trailer was all beat up but everything on it is brand new now. I even replaced the bow chain and the safety chains. The new winch I got is awesome and it was like $50. I considered the electric but it seemed like overkill on these little boats. I pull it on by hand most the time.

Nice Jack! Save your old one and when you sell your boat some day swap it out before you sell it so you can keep that nice one!

Seems kinda cool, but $1300...daaammmnnn. I bet you could use an electric winch and find a remote operated relay and almost rig the same thing up for under 200 bucks.

I was thinking the same thing!! you could probably get some side guide poles and connect two elastic( bungee) cords to them and connect them, then have an electric winch cable hooked to that in the middle/rear of trailer..You could pull up until all that was alignrd with ur boats D ring/hook in front, then just hook it up and press the remote control switch for the winch and you'd be set..minus the 1,000 somethin' dollars

I think you will be happy with the quality of the Fulton. That is what came on my boat trailer and it is very heavy duty.

I gave a buddy of mine a harbor freight one I had laying around, new in the box. Saw it on his construction trailer...what a POS. Now I know why it was only $16.

Now I know why it was only $16.

Thats the truth. Fulton makes good stuff and thats what my original one was. It was worn out from the previous owner leaving the trailer outside. I was cheap and went with the Harbor Freight one. It only lasted 1 season. If you look in the pic of the old jack, you can see the flat spot on the wheel. It wouldnt swivel so I had to drag it..lol

Man I just recieved this jack and holly cow it is Huge and heavy. Your pictures don't do it any justice..lol I think it is overkill for my dual ski triton trialer.

West marine has them on sale for $109 for their Memorial Day sale. Gonna get one tomorrow. Thanks for the lead on this product!
