I put in a new battery, and it was charged up to 13.5V. All I get is a click from the relay switch. I still get 12.5 at the starter when I push the starter button. What I don't get is any reading from the left side of the ignition coil.
It's a 97GSX. Can anyone offer any solutions here. I am almost ready to take this thing to a shop.

:(

I think I'll pull the starter and try and figure it out that way, Idon't seem to be getting alot of help from this forum anyways. I think it's a shakedown to get ya to pay the premium members pricing in order for someone to assist you with information that would actually help.

To Clarify, what does the ignition coil wire have to do with your starter porblem? That is probably why you havent gotten any response, Is your starter not turning at all even with 12+V to it? Check and make sure the ground is making a good connection at the starter.

As well these guys are all very helpful wether your premium or not, you just need to be more specific about your problem:cheers:

No one is saying you have to pay for a prem membership to get help......we are all normal people with everyday lives and try to help everyone we can......you get help either way.....a prem membership gives you manuals and tech phone support if needed......the biggest reason your question has not received an answer is becase you never really asked a question............you stated when you pushed the start button you got 12.5 volts at the starter but nothing at the ignition coil..........ok, so what is the question you need help with? We are here to help you but cannot give an answer without a question.......is it cranking but not starting? is it not cranking at all? and is the ignition coil a completly different problem?

and also, just because you get voltage at the starter does not mean you are getting the amperage...........you also need to check your main engine/starter ground connection
