MP3 an XP?

is it possible to put marine speakers and an MP3 hook up on my 96 XP and how much am i looking at to have it done?

anything is possible, however I have came to the same thump in the road.....pwc's require the best marine speakers anything less is a waste of money as they come apart fast do to the elements at hand in marine use where as a boat the speakers are not as exposed.

Most get an amp and 4 speaker system, your mp3 plugs right into the amp via a cable. The 4 speakers go where ever you want to cut a hole for them, I do not recommend the mirror speaker mounts as you really need those mirrors if you have them.

Price wise I have seen them from $500 up to about $900 or so. Can you get away with a couple hundred?......yes but you will be replacing everything within couple of months.....mounting.....typical mounting is where ever you will hear the sound best....amp gets mounted inside, I would mount it out of dict water contact.

Not for nothing, but that comes with the nature of the beast......the battery cannot charge if the engine is turned off, I always suggest a 2nd battery with the addition of a stereo so that the stereo/electronics battery is isolated from the starting system. Yes if the engine is turned off and your stereo is cranked then you will kill the battery within a certain amount of time, thats why the engine must be running to charge it, however if you isolate 2 seperate batteries and run nice not cheap batteries you can have the engine off and get quite a bit of time before you have a problem, I would run 2 batteries and a dual batt switch

Yeah I thought about that but I like fast more than music so I didn't want to add the extra weight.It can be done and I have seen some pretty nice set ups but it has to be done right.The only way to make it useable would be a second deep cycle batt.
