40 for the low tonight might be cold by the time the ride gets here kind of why I went ahead and bought a wet suit. If I don't need it great but if I do I have it

Xl should be fine. I'm only a few pounds lighter and the large isn't too terribly bad, a little short in the ankle and tight in the thigh

The xl is kinda snug probably just needs to be broken in

OK just to review.... We are going to meet up in LaGrange, Ga at the Highland Marina Resort November 13-15. Everyone is invited to bring your ski and ride or show up and visit with us. I plan to be there at a decent time Friday and will be able to help out others however I can. I've never met most of these members myself so don't be shy! If the weather sucks that's just more fireside beer drinking time.

If anybody has questions, comments, or needs help of any kind hit me up here or at (850)259-1581.

I've been prepping my skis, how are the rest out there running?

I've ordered some more cold weather gear, snow pants arrived, bought some cheap neoprene gloves and a pair of OTG goggles (always wanted a pair) next will be a pair of booties and maybe a better hat i'm officially over prepared with weather gear. Room is paid for and plans are set..

ski run's great... sorta...
Was out pushing the ski pretty hard sunday trying to figure out how the hell you throw the ass end of a rxtx around to make a u-turn in less than 30 feet... there seems to be a trick to it on weight/position/throttle that I haven't figured out yet... During several miserable attempts, and getting unhooked a couple times, at some point I took on water to the point of the bilge kicking on so it makes me question the carbon seal, I can't think of any other source for water intrusion, I want to look into that later this week.

I'm not that worried about the weather, the worst thing that happens is that I shorten my rides a bit due to shivering and drink more, so that's just fine :)

I am fighting a fuel valve related issue. Still trying to figure out how 2 fuel valves purchased from eBay have the same issue.

Hook the engine supply line to the RES pickup on the tank and all is well. Put the valve in the system and it falls on its face at anything above idle.

I thought the SBT valves are good to go.

Also, I have a GSX that I can't quite get the carbs working right on.

$50 reward to anyone who can make it run right during the trip.

I am serious.

If you bury the bow under the water, the water can go through the crack in the hood below the seal of the storage basket and into the hull.

hmmm, interesting on two fronts....

1) storage bucket ? I think its Long gone :) I think a lot of guys take it out to have full access to the whole space.

2) we DID have 4 foot washing machine seas and 20-25 mph winds, so water came over the bow several dozen times, perhaps I just took on some water during the trip out where it was really choppy and the bilge kicked in after I started farting around...

Thanks for the input that might be the source, i'm going to think about that a little more before I bust out the socket set.

Add thick weather stripping if your storage container is gone.

whats kind of funny is that i've thrown out at least half a dozen buckets in the past 2 years, impossible to sell/ship and make it worth my time so I just toss them... I honestly wouldn't be impacted if I had a bucket back in there, I'm used to GPr storage and R12 storage which is about 3 gallons, so a big bucket will still feel like a POD storage compared to what i'm typically dealing with. I know now that I should have tossed one of those bins in my attic with some parts in it for times like this.. ugh...

If there's a fire pit we can have one blazing all day... If its cold just run up and warm up.

Unfortunately no ground fires allowed :(

Anyone have a metallic fire pit?

sbt had a bad batch of 787 valves that ran through recently, as in the last 120 days, bad enough that I stopped buying and selling them. (and I had easily sold 60 of them with 100% positive results until back maybe June when the problems came up) either a bad batch or they changed suppliers... not sure if they corrected the issue so I decided I was done with them.

Matt B got a couple of the bad ones, had him scratching his head for half a day if I remember.

Man, sbt sold me a NOT ROUND wear ring and tried to tell me it was not possible. I took careful measurements and showed them the pics. They refunded me and were professional, but I will just spend a few extra bux and go oem next time
