I have a 99 GTX RFI I was getting low voltage light so I thought battery was problem. I put new battery in and after a few minutes operation I get low voltage alarm. Anyone have experienc with this one. Manual said to check some fuses that's my next stop. Any other suggestions?

Hi, firstly check your fuses and then check the groundings and battery connections for any being loose or dirty contacts. You can check your charging by having a multimeter handy and with the ski on the hose @ 5000rpm you should be gettin between 14 and 14.5 volts on the multimeter at the battery... put your hand on the rectifier.. is it warm to hottish? Please be careful as NOT TO BURN YOUR HAND! If it is cold/cool it's probabaly your rectifier as being the problem to your charging issue. It could also be other things but these are the first things i would eliminate as being the isssue.

rectifier

FYI BOB it's spelt G'day mate.... how'd you go with that rectifier? To my knowledge the rectifier/regulator basically allows the battery to sustain it's correct voltage from the charging system. When the rectifier/regulator plays up, batteries become flat or they fry.

Checked Fuses etc. Ordered a rectifier. By elimination and deduction that would be my best bet. I'll let you know the out come.
