The sheaper board racks suck btw. The expensive board racks are more money for a reason. Been there done that unfortunately.
I just picked up a 155hp speedster, orange and with tower. I've never owned a jet ski or jet boat before, I just saw this thing and fell in love with it. I just took it out for the first time yesterday and it is AMAZING.
I have a few questions for you guys:
1-Z-monster - Did you get a bimini cover/sleeve with yours? I did not and am wondering if I should be asking my dealer for it. If not, any tips on how to pack the thing away?
2- I can't get any of the modes to come up other than Eco Mode, I go through all the steps in the menu, eco-mode is all I get. Anyone else have this problem?
3- My dealer does not seem to be concerned about break-in. They said to not keep it at any constant speed for too long, but nothing about avoiding top speed or WOT or anything like that. What was break in like/suggested for you?
By the way, I put the hydro-turf on mine and it really sets the thing off. I didnt think it could look any better, but I was wrong.
The hydro turf is really great. I got the line cut in black, ill post some pics, most of what ive seen posted is the diamond cut.
You should have option for Cruise, ECO, and Docking as well. There is no SKI mode though.
No cruise or docking on mine Just Eco
yeah the other modes just aren't showing up. Hitting mode scrolls through the menu showing eco mode, then settings, display etc; no other modes.
That doesn't make sense. I have cruise, docking and eco. Cruise is great for when I pull wake boarders or tubes. You sure your reading the directions correctly? BTW, ski mode is not available but shows up in the instrument panel - I think that's because they use some of the same instruments for the speedster as they do for their wake board and larger boats.
As far as what to use for a kneeboard - I'd say tower. From what I've heard the only thing the tower really buys you is the ability to jump a bit higher. A great option for all the water sports EXCEPT tubing.
Still haven't gotten anywhere on the mode issue
Here's something I did figure out though, the radio that comes in the speedster has an aux port for headphone to mp3, but there is also a cable behind the radio for iphone/ipod control. I just picked up the jensen adapter cable JDABIPDL. It was $26 on amazon for a 9', I wish it was like 3', but regardless, now I can control the ipod from the dash remote!
how are these boats for tow sports, like a 250 pound guy on a tube, does it pull the boat around.
Update on modes, had to argue with dealer for a while but after getting them to talk to sea-doo everyone agreed that something was wrong, sea-doo is sending out a new computer.
