The sheaper board racks suck btw. The expensive board racks are more money for a reason. Been there done that unfortunately.

Thanks Cycleguy, So I got screwed on the sleeve, and I shouldn't worry about the break-in.

But the modes, I know for a fact they're supposed to be there...anyone else have feedback on this?

I just picked up a 155hp speedster, orange and with tower. I've never owned a jet ski or jet boat before, I just saw this thing and fell in love with it. I just took it out for the first time yesterday and it is AMAZING.

I have a few questions for you guys:

1-Z-monster - Did you get a bimini cover/sleeve with yours? I did not and am wondering if I should be asking my dealer for it. If not, any tips on how to pack the thing away?

2- I can't get any of the modes to come up other than Eco Mode, I go through all the steps in the menu, eco-mode is all I get. Anyone else have this problem?

3- My dealer does not seem to be concerned about break-in. They said to not keep it at any constant speed for too long, but nothing about avoiding top speed or WOT or anything like that. What was break in like/suggested for you?

By the way, I put the hydro-turf on mine and it really sets the thing off. I didnt think it could look any better, but I was wrong.

First of all congrats!!!

Yes, since you bought the tower the Gray Bimini is part of the tower option. It even says that on the Sea Doo website. So tell your dealership to get that for you ASAP.

I read the manual and what you stated about break in is right. However as long as you don't abuse the WOT you should be fine. I change speeds regularly and don't ride for periods over 20 mins. I take breaks in the middle of the lake and enjoy swimming or floating with the vest in the deep water.

With the modes I have the same results. I cannot get in docking mode or ski mode. I plan on calling Sea Doo for answers because my dealership doesnt know crap about the speedster.

My hydro turf is on its way. I can't wait to put it on after reading all you guys comments about it.

My dealer has been great, customer service wise, they did awesome on my price, they got me exactly what I wanted...but like yours, they don't seem to know much of anything about the speedster. Last conversation, they said they might have me bring it in.

I got the bimini, that's on there, what I don't have is a cover or sleeve for it...I'l have to ask about that

The hydro turf is really great. I got the line cut in black, ill post some pics, most of what ive seen posted is the diamond cut.

Great!!!

I did order the diamond cut.

Hey, make sure you do not ride the speedster with the Bimini open unless you are going slow. I snapped the metal clamps yesterday. I was able to fix it buying $1.00 D-rings from Wal-Mart though.

QUESTION:

I know the pole is tubes and the tower is for wakeboards and ski’s.
I just ordered a kneeboard. What is best to use, the tower or the factory pole at the bottom?

No cruise or docking on mine :( Just Eco

That doesn't make sense. I have cruise, docking and eco. Cruise is great for when I pull wake boarders or tubes. You sure your reading the directions correctly? BTW, ski mode is not available but shows up in the instrument panel - I think that's because they use some of the same instruments for the speedster as they do for their wake board and larger boats.

As far as what to use for a kneeboard - I'd say tower. From what I've heard the only thing the tower really buys you is the ability to jump a bit higher. A great option for all the water sports EXCEPT tubing.

yeah the other modes just aren't showing up. Hitting mode scrolls through the menu showing eco mode, then settings, display etc; no other modes.

Thanks on the info, I have to check on that.

Still haven't gotten anywhere on the mode issue

Here's something I did figure out though, the radio that comes in the speedster has an aux port for headphone to mp3, but there is also a cable behind the radio for iphone/ipod control. I just picked up the jensen adapter cable JDABIPDL. It was $26 on amazon for a 9', I wish it was like 3', but regardless, now I can control the ipod from the dash remote!

Dealer just asked me to bring it in, will let you know what they say, taking it down there on Thursday.....gotta play tomorrow...

I ended up getting this cable as well right after I got the boat. It works perfectly with my iphone and ipod.

how are these boats for tow sports, like a 250 pound guy on a tube, does it pull the boat around.

I tow two teenage boys weighing a total of over 360 and I don't have any trouble. Of course you can feel the drag and on sharp turns there might be a tug but other than that it works just fine.

Congrats!!!! I have the exact same boat, we love it. Gonna try & hit the water w/it this weekend. Enjoy!

Update on modes, had to argue with dealer for a while but after getting them to talk to sea-doo everyone agreed that something was wrong, sea-doo is sending out a new computer.

They actually argued at first that the modes were not supposed to be on there at all. They assured me that their service manuals said nothing about modes, I guess they were looking at a 2011 manual?

Further update, took it in and they followed Seadoo procedure to program the modes, and told me they were having no luck and that they were ordering a new computer. I wanted the boat for the weekend, so I told them that I would bring it back to them once the computer came in. When I got on the water, lo and behold....the modes were there.

Called the dealer asked them what they did, they said they just tried to program the modes, nothing else, so I don't really know what caused them to pop up, but they are there now. Dealer said to keep them posted, and if any issue surfaces, they will go ahead and replace.

a little scary huh? I'm just glad that I took it in and they saw it to, otherwise they'd be calling me crazy and saying that I was not doing something right.
