Jet pump oil pressurized?

Just had a quick question. I went to pull the set screw out of my jet pump to make sure the oil was good and had no foam in it today. When I unscrewed the set screw the thing seemed to be pressurized. As the screw came out it decided to spray gear oil out all over me.

Is this normal?

do I need to replace the oil that was sprayed out? It was pretty nominal but enough to make me have to throw my shirt in the washer.

Gear oil in a washer? You must be single, I would have just thrown it away. Was it after riding oil expands when heated.

lol.

I have about 15 hours on the pump since it was rebuilt. At the time this happened it was not hot the ski had been sitting in my garage for about a week.

just thought it was interesting as the last time I pulled the screw out of the pump nozzle this did not happen. I can't remember where I bought the kit from but it was probably either OSD of SBT and came with official "jet pump oil" which I've since learned is not necessary as you can use any synthetic 75-90, but i wonder if that had anything to do with it.
