Karl, I'm sure you remember, but for everyone else- 2008 speedster 150 SCIC.

anyway, ran it a few times today with no issues, docked it for a bit and when I went to go back out, it had a HORRIBLE, LOUD vibration when I hit the throttle. I let off and tried again, same thing followed by a clunk/bang/thunk and then all was fine. I was concerned that I sucked something up into the jet pump, but it looks "clean" out back, no signs of damage. I want to look underneath it tomorrow, but just wanted ideas. I wasn't sure if there is anything else that it could be (like a CV joint or something if used or possible SC issue, though it seems to run fine now..

Also, sorry- I have not been posting much due to my hands getting mangled in a dog fight two weeks ago :(. My two females (shepherd and pit) went at it and to try to get the shepherd to stop biting the pit so I could get the pit off, I gave up my hand as a "bite stick" for the shepherd. Knew it wouldn't be good, but it was a last resort- just didn't expect my tendon for my thumb to get severed :(. Lots of pain, surgery last week and 11 more weeks of PT and hopefully my thumb will be at best 80% of what it was before :( :(. Other hand just got some deep punctures and a couple good lacerations, but it still works at least lol.

Sorry to hear about all the bad luck, my advice will not help much now, BUT when you first hear something like that, try throwing the craft into reverse...

As for the tendon, had mine on my right hand severed in 95 as was not able to reatach... It was my "BIRD" finger  anyway the worst partr for me is I can't hold change in that hand!!! HOPE ALL GOES WELL...

sorry about your tendon- is it stuck out or curled in? Nervous as hell about mine because they told me not to actively flex it at all until the 3rd week (only 1 week post op tomorrow), but it keeps getting moved a bit out of habit or due to twitching at night when falling asleep or something. scary when they say "don't move it at all or you can damage the repair and it moves on you- now I have 12 weeks to worry about if I've moved it "too much" and damaged it :(. Only moved it less than 1/8" and I have a rubber band to my nail as traction to hold it down, so it did some of the work too- but reading my PT sheet, it only has me moving it 15 degrees after 3 weeks. Oh well, hope for the best I guess..

Vibration

kwiktsi, sometimes shutting off engine and restarting will clear the intake:)

It is curved in, I have only lost use of the tip, and not the entire finger... I'll keep you in my prayers, I know the thumb is a little more inportant, so take it easy!!!

yeah, if I even had an inkling it was something in there, I would have :(. I didn't think about it until it clunked, banged and got better lol. Would something in there make it vibrate like that though?? Just want to make sure it isn't a joint somewhere or something. Thanks.

Mine is the flexor tendon, it stuck straight out :(. Thank you for the kind words!

Joe, sorry to hear about your hand...somehow Imissed your post and just saw it now, today. Are you still having a problem with the noise in the jet pump? If you get something in there putting it in reverse does nothing as the jet boat is a direct drive and is always going in the same direction always. The reverse just directs the flow to make the jet boat go in reverse, while the engine still rotates in the same direction. If you do get something in the jet pump, shut it off and start it back up to see if it will dislodge itself. If it is still there you need to poke it out with something while it's on the trailer, or swim under it to get to it. uh... don't use you fingers you don't have much luck with you hands lately...

Yeah, I figured reverse wouldn't do anything since the shaft still spins in the same direction. My concern is what it was in the first place. Would something getting sucked up do what I described??

It could be that you got something stuck in the jet pump like a stick or a plastic bottle or something. Is it running ok now? Just give it a look see.
