Is it me or are these skis a pain in the a** to own.

1996 XP

It seems that the 96xp is making its way into a lot of peoples lives, as their first ski. My XP is running like a bat at of hell at the moment(after countless hours spent in my garage and a ton of money). But, for what they are/what you pay, they are a blast when properly maintained.

YES! They are a PITA! Nothing is easy on a 12 year boat.

Last summer my 96 HX failed me on a much anticipated houseboat trip. Gawd, the anger and disappointment when I had to leave it on the trailer.

I even put up ads to sell the damn thing - I was THAT close to the breaking point with it!

Then I got the carbs rebuilt and rode it in its full glory last month.

I feel like I've been through hell and back with my HX. And I even worked on a friend's dead 96 GSX and brought it back to life - just because fighting one dead ski wasn't enough, eh?

But boy when they run, they run! And right now I don't want to sell it anymore - I can't wait to ride it again next weekend!
