Impeller axial end float too much at .070 in?

I just replaced the impeller and wear ring in my 96 Sea Doo XP. I have approximatly .070 in of end float (fwd to aft) movement in the assy. How much is too much and what can I do tighten it up if this is too much. This is the first time the impeller has been replaced and I only changed it because the wear ring bit the dust. I'm using an SBT wear ring and reconditioned prop. With the unit at 14 years of age, I'm not expecting it to last another 14, but don't want it to come apart in the next year or two. It still runs strong. Any help is appreciated.
