I think I have the mechanical fixes figured out but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on patching/repairing these holes in the intake area. I think I can take the ride plate off and access the damaged area from behind.

Ideas? :)

That's not the wear ring, it's part of the "pump support", the part that holds the studs that the pump housing bolts to. Doesnt look like it is replaceable.

Wow... how the hell did you beat the shoe that bad????

Anyway.... I would fill it full of JB Weld, and then sand/file it clean. But you want enough that it goes in behind, and makes the blob of glue big enough that it won't get sucked back out. There's A LOT of vac pressure in that area.

I sure don't know! Someone else was riding it, right as they started it sounded like they had sucked up a little rock, I just yelled at them to put it in reverse and it flushed it out but by then the damage must have already been done. That was basically my plan, didn't know if I should try to use some sort of patch or just build up enough material to close up the holes.

Drop your ride place and replace the pump shoe!!

That was my first thought but I couldn't find the part anywhere. Also from reading the shop manual and some other threads it looks like quite the chore to replace, might be a little over my head.

It is cast aluminum and would be a pain in the ass to try to weld it in the ski.

The correct fix would be to replace the shoe with a good used one.

It's plastic, not aluminum.

Take paper towels and jam some of it in the holes to act as a backer/filler then start packing the MarineTex in there. sand it sorta flush but leave it a little proud. You want it to act like a squashed letter I. I know it's a half ass idea but that is how I would do it if I couldn't find a replacement pump support which would be my first avenue.

It doesn't look like plastic

PArt#47, it's one piece of molded plastic.

Cover the back of the hole up( if it's open all the way thru) with masking tape. Leave an area like a bubble on the back to engage repair on that side. sand around the hole to rough up on top side. Make a dam with tape around hole. leaving some overlap around hole. Fill with fiber glass resin. carefully sand down with a dremile with cut off wheels. Wear a mask. Resin is like maple syrup sticky and runny. Wear 2 pair of gloves. Mask for drips.

Plumbers putty is another good thing to use for dams to control resin. Remove the masking right after resin sets. Maxwell house plastic coffee can lids are good containers to use for mixing small batches. Stir with pop sickle sticks. They can be used to position stuff too. Follow instructions on amounts of hardener to use. Too little and it takes forever to set up. Have any fiberglass cloth or mat precut and lined up ready for use. Wearing 2 sets of gloves gives you the ability to strip one pair off if they get sticky. Then put another pair on if you want over the first pair.
You should see what I can do with Duct tape.

i learned the hard way to eat the pop sickle first....

Alright, small update: managed to pull the ride plate (that was a pain in the ass, a bottle jack, seriously?!) Actually it worked pretty well all things considered.

I think I might try to repair it but I'll probably have to pull it to be able to work on it (rather than on my back upside down). If I do that I might as well just replace it if I can find one. My dealer was no luck, says it is obsolete and not made anymore.

If anyone knows where I might look, or might know a guy who knows a guy who has one, that would be great but I'm going to start scrounging the internet now! P/N 270 001 274. :)

Thanks for the ideas on repairing, I like the resin idea. But regardless I won't be able to do it without pulling it so that'll be my next project.

My Wife says I lie awake at night thinking of ways to fix stuff.
My evil Cousin "JuryRig1" would use gorilla tape with JB Weld to level the hole.

Alright, nearing the end of my rope on this thing. Can't find a replacement one anywhere. Dealer tried to search other dealers and came up with nothing. Tried some used parts places and nothing. Ebay nothing (for now).

Service guy said I'm virtually guaranteed to break it trying to get it out so I might be back to trying to repair it although I'd much rather replace it.

ANYONE have any idea where else I could look, who I could ask, anything? Please? :D
