ok, first, please don't even ask where i am. lol.

but i assure you, no sea-doo dealerships ANYWHERE near me.

here's what happened:

i jump started my 97 Speedster with my jeep. I KNOW, we're not supposed to do that. but could anyone tell me WHY? what does it do? triggers the security system?

Now, it just beeps a long 2 sec beep. there's power. but no Ignition.

i THINK i need my key reprogrammed, so could anyone please tell me how to get it done without having to TAKE MY BOAT OVERSEAS!?!

We don't jumpstart the boats from something else, because if the other thing is running it will dump too much voltage into the MPEM and short it out.
You might have some fuses that need replaced, or you might need a new MPEM.

Use the advanted diag mode, press the start stop without a lanyard in place, 5 times quickly. It should beep a couple times (short then long).

Plug in the lanyard, and press the start/stop button one more time, listen for beeps. Two longs means wrong lanyard/needs reprogrammed.

As for programming without a dealer, you'd need to buy an mpem programmer, about $1000 plus or minus, or you'd need to send your mpem to someone who has a programmer (or a dealer that has one).

Thanks So Much!

Vilord, you rawk!

seriously, that was so helpful. thanks a truckload.

just one little thing, can you site me some place or url where i can get the mpem REPROGRAMMER, for the price you just qouted. $1000?

this is for a Seadoo Jetboat by the way, the 1996 Speedster.

thank you again.

You gotta watch ebay and the classifieds, just search for MPEM programmer. They show up every couple months...
If I were you I'd call a dealer in another country and send my mpem there.
