There are several threads on how to build your own pop off tester, but some are missing pictures and others give you items from Home Depot, so I thought I would start a thread with how I made my pop of tester with items from Lowes. I am brand new to Jet Skis, so if I can do this YOU can do this too. :) It cost me a little over $25 dollars. I do want to give credit to advacomp because I used his thread on building one from Home Depot as the basis for mine.

Parts Needed:

1. 1/4" Air Hose Plug (Item #15306) - Located in air tools section. No packaging, just a little tag on it.
2. 1/4" Pressure Gauge (Item #221022) - Located in air tools section. In Kobalt packaging
3. 1/4" Mini Ball Valve Knob (Item #221029) - Located in air tools section. In Kobalt packaging
4. 1/4" Brass Pipe T Fitting (Item #34833) - Located in plumbing section. Watts packaging with pink stripe on top
5. 1/4" Brass Hose Barb with 5/16 Barb (Item #22340) - Located in plumbing section. Watts packaging with purple stripe
6. Teflon Tape (Already had so not in picture or receipt)

A couple of tips:

- The ball valve is VERY touchy so go very slowly when increasing pressure
- I would not advise using this for anything that requires very low pressure. The pressure builds so quickly you could easily break a seal or diaphragm
- I used left over 5/16 fuel line hose for testing. For the MAG carb, the pop off tester is attached to the only 5/16 hose attachment on the whole carb. For the PTO carb, you attach the hose to the 1/4" fitting on the side of the carb. You can still use the 5/16 hose, just put a hose clamp on it.

That's about it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
