How bout this as a cheap alternative non slip mat?

No, I have a yoga mat as I have back problems and the stretching helps. The mat is great for it's intended use but I really don't think it would ever hold up long on a ski/boat. But for $10, if ya want give it a try and let us know.

Related question. The "mats" (don't know the official word for them) on the sides of my ski (where you put your feet) have buckles in them (about 1/8"). I figure the anwer is no, but it's worth asking, is there any way (e.g. apply heat) to get them to lay flat again. The annyoying think about it is when I work on the ski I lay all the parts in the foot wells and a small washer will always slip under the mat and I got to fish it out. The other annoying thing is that even using a funnel, every time I pour in oil I manage to dribble a little down the side of the ski and it runs under the mat, so I can't get it all wiped up and it makes a real mess once the water washes it out. By now most of you are thinking, No the MOST annoying this is this post! so I'll end it here. :)

oh one more thing. I'm misssing one rivet cover (purple). I was thinking a dab of purple nail polish ? (yea Lou, I'm sure sis has the right color)

Hi Jake,

What you need to do is let go of a little cash, less than $100.00 and get either hydro-turf or balck tip mats. I put a set on my 96XP they look great, and really easy to install. When I get a little ahead I'm going to get a set for the GTI.

How's sis?

Lou

big Jake, the price was $312.00 where did you see $10? shipping was $7.95
Even hydroturf can't be that expensive...can it?

My older boats....

When I was a kid, my dad's boat has a blue and black astroturf. it was really thin, but thick enough.... You had to sweep it of crumbs at the end of the day if you ate chips, etc. on it.

It wasn't that bad...but the bare gel coat is a breeze to clean compare to that. I'm sure hydro turf is way better, but if you are really looking for cheap, that might be something worth looking into.

I lined my front compartment with astro-turf to dampen the anchor and chain as it's stored...not too bad.
