Hi All, I'm Ganeshwara from Indonesia. I'm interested in water sport especially in jet ski since I was in 5th grade it's mean 20 years ago. after all that time i always saving the money and searching for the brands and type that will match with my budget and my skiing style. Finally with all the joyful and satisfaction after waiting for a long time I've bought a 1998 SEA-DOO GSX Limited. Since I'm a newbie i need to ask some comments and advice from all of You.

1. I bought the GSX for Rp. 35,000,000,- it's about US$ 3,500 it's came with a trailer, brand new seadoo life jackets (1pc), brand new bombardier battery, 2 pcs of wearing, 120.000 running hour mostly salt water, good body condition with no leaking only a few paints crack on the each corner but the paint is dull . Is it worth the price?

2. Actually how much the 1998 GSX Limited price in the US or in the Australia ?

3. If i want to re-paint it, is it can be done by car body paint workshop?

4. Before i do the re paint, i need all the decal set for the body. Where can i find them and can you give me advice for the store near Indonesia so the delivery cost won't be so expensive.

I need the advise and the Information, Thank you verymuch. My first skiing experience with 1998 seadoo gsx limited was very unforgettable. Seadoo is the right one yeeehaaaaaaaa......

Hey man, congrats on your purchase. I'm sure you'll have fun with it.

I think $3,500 is a little high being a 1998 and a lot of fading that you mention. Average retail is $2,880 and low retail is $2,570, these are both with trailers.(based on prices here in the USA, your country will be different...supply and demand.)

You would have to take it to a boat place, or any auto re-finishing facility to do the painting.

You can get all your decals from the "Parts" link in the upper right hand corner from this site. Check ebay as well, sometimes they have whole sets on there.

if its dull you should be able to buff it to a nice gloss, Painting over gel coat can be tuff and not turn out good if not done right and will not last as long as gel coat, if you post pic's i can tell you the best way to go about fixing it....

Hi Mr. Ryan Thank you, I do having fun with the GSX.

I guess it is a little high, actually I was doing the bargaining with other GSX but I've ran out of luck and the GSX was sold at about US$ 2,900. Because of the Holidays is coming and I've plan to skiing on my vacation so i ask to some one who actually doesn't want to sale his GSX to sale it to me and I'm offering him that 3,500 price but the overall condition is better than the US$2,900.

The problem is, in my country we didn't have any boat place/workshop. Here we just use it until it can't be use anymore.I will try to look for the decal on the "Parts" link and on Ebay as you suggested.

Thank you very much for your response and advice, i really appreciate it.

Actually it's not the paint fading/dull that become the primary reason to re-paint the GSX but it has a few little paint crack and the decal peeling off apart. Can you suggest me where to find information on how to repaint the GSX without using gel coat with the best result. Thank you verymuch for your response and advise.

I suggest you see if you have any autobody paint stores where you are. They can help you do the job right and suggest different methods to repair it. It depends too on what matarials are availiable in you local town to do the repair. We have Autobody paint stores all over the place here in the USA.

Yes here we do have a lot autobody paint stores and workshop but they all doesn't have any experience and knowledge about repairing any watercraft body. How ever I'm sure they will be able to do the job if they got the right knowledge and materials which will works to do the repairing. Anyway Thank you very much for your response and suggestion.

As soon as possible i will post the pic, it has several type of crack. on the back side corner right above the sponson it has the worst damage maybe because of the docking process but it doesn't make the water entering the ski, and it has a several spider web crack on the body, and the last crack is beneath the seat on the edge of the seat frame.
I'm agree with you, to fix gelcoat is with gel coat. Could you help me find a nearest store that can delivered a complete tools, guidance and the gelcoat it self to Indonesia, I will try to fix my GSX my self and maybe become the first person who able to fix a water craft with a gelcoat in my country. Thank you very much for your attention and your support.

Decals?.........

ganeshwara, welcome to the seadooforum. It's always nice to see an international member come aboard. I hope you find everything you need here and like all the members above said, we're here to help as much as we possibly can.

To help you on the decals, if this link comes through o.k., http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/seadooforums/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=53&B=24 all the decals can be purchased for just under $200 USD.

If you'd like to order parts from our parts link above, you can use it to search for what it is you need. Write the part numbers down on a piece of paper. But instead of trying to purchase them through the normal channels as we do here in the states, you'll need to call their international phone number at 954-785-4820 and a salesman will be happy to assist you. You'll need a major credit card for the purchase, since credit card companies exchange currency in transactions.

Again, welcome to the forum.

Did I need to add USA country code and area code before the phone number? Could you tel me the code?

Thank you very much for You and All the Forum member, I hope You and all the forum member can understand my English  hehehe...
