OK, then I will let someone else help you with your DI! This is way out of my field of expertise! And from the looks of it you're a much better mechanics than me (I'm null).

I was just asking because an incorrect timed engine can be really hard to start, acting like it has no power and won't accelerate correctly (and stall). I had that on my 2003 GTI LE 2003 after a rebuild and it was very frustrating.

I mean I did rebuild the whole engine. im only 15. I checked the timing when I put the flywheel back on and the timing was good. I got a wooden rod and I put the engine at top dead center. the flywheel and TDC matched up. then I checked it with the spark plug tester and when the light on the tester went off the engine was at TDC. I know that its timed right.

DI skis idle in and out of the water at 1450rpms. MPEM programmed for this already.
If the fuel pump was replaced with after market then that is your problem. Replace with OEM.
If you replaced the throttle body then the tps will need to be reset.
0 to 80% throttle should read 5/6 volts on the meter. 80 to 100% throttle should read 0 volts. Meter should be connected to black/white wire on throttle body and ground. Checked while ski is not running and lanyard installed.
If you have the original fuel pump then pull it and replace the internal filters.
Airtex FS220 and FS242. Replace the external fuel filter while you are at it.
Hook up a pressure gauge. Pressure should be 107psi. 80psi fuel pressure plus 27psi air pressure totaling 107psi.
All sensors should be connected or it would throw a code. Maint light. No maint light and it is probably fuel related.
And no DI skis do not have a rotary valve.

when I pull the plugs after trying to start it I get gas and this brown stuff on one of the plugs. one plug has more then the other. I believe that it is the oil. but even after turning the oil pump off and trying to start it I still get nothing. after running it for 15 minutes on the garden hose WHICH WAS VERY VERY BAD OF ME I pulled the plugs and they were black. the engine was running very rich so I assumed that they would look black. but I still dont understand why it ran out of the water, put it in the water, and then take it out and it doesn't want to run AT ALL!

Running out of the water will tell you nothing because there is no load on the engine. Fuel demand is much greater in the water.
Install the lanyard and listen for the fuel pump to come on. If it comes on great.
Pull the fuel pump and clean it really good and change the internal fuel filters.
Change the external fuel filter if you have not already done so.

The internal fuel filters can be purchased at local auto parts store.

I rebuilt the whole assembly. that included me putting in all brand new filters. internal and external

Ok what is your fuel pressure numbers?

When you rebuilt did you use an aftermarket pump or OEM?

Bingo! We have a winner finally. I bet the after market pump is your problem. They are junk. Get a used one off ebay, clean it up and put your new filters on it.

I took it to one of my friend that works on them. he has been working on skis for awhile. within 2 minutes he said that it was a fuel issue. the only problem is I cant just find the OEM fuel pump. its the whole assembly and the assembly is very expensive. if you know anywhere or what I can look up to just find the pump it would be a HUGE help. thanks to everyone that gave me so many suggestions. will keep everyone updated!!!

Nope, that’s how it’s sold $750. You could try clearing a used oem one but that’s the only other option. Run it in a 50/50 mixture of gas and toluene.

If your fuel pump is bad and you cannot afford, or do not want to spend that kind of money, then go on eBay and purchase a used one. Clean it really good and replace the internal filters with new. I posted the part numbers already. You can purchase filters at almost any auto parts store as they fit several model cars. I believe you stated that you put new filters on with the aftermarket pump. Those should work.

You can also go to Westsidepowersports.com and see if Nick has any good used in stock. He is a member here as well as being a good honest guy.
