Speedometer not working

Speedometer not working on 2001 Seadoo LRV 951 carbs. I have only put it in the water twice. First time could not read multi function gauge but speedometer worked. I replaced the multifunction gauge. Put it in the water, now multifunction gauge works except when you select the mode and put it mph no reading and now speedometer gauge does not work.
How can I troubleshoot this?

There is a 3 wire paddlewheel transducer on the back of the ride plate that must feed into the multifunction gauge and the speedometer gauge. First thing to do is check the connectors for that paddlewheel are connected and clean. There is probably a connector in the rear near the ride plate and the front going to the gauges. I have seen posts here on repairing the speedometer paddlewheel that detail the signals that come out of that transducer if it is working properly. Since yours speedometer gauge worked before it is more likely a connection problem.

I have a 2001 Seadoo LRV, I see the paddle wheel. Do I have to unscrew the paddle wheel to get access to the connection?
I checked the connection on the speedometer side looks good. With no lanyard, pushed the start button I get 12 v on the purple and black wire. and put volt meter on the purple/yellow and black wires and had someone spin the paddle wheel and get nothing.

I have never had to measure mine but look at this thread which describes some of the signals:

I found the speed sensor connector. I put volt meter on the purple + and black -, spun the paddle wheel but no voltage reading at all. Spun it slow and fast and nothing. I tried it on my other Jetski and still nothing.
Anyone know how to test the speed sensor?
I need help

I disconnected the plug to put my multimeter. I thought the 3rd wire was for the water temperature. I do not see a power wire going to the speed sensor unless I am wrong. I am going by the wire schematic that a previous person had.
I will see if I can reconnect the plug and insert 2 wires so I can connect my multimeter.
