Ok what have I got myself in to?? I picked up a 1993 GTX from a person at work that simply wanted it out of the back yard... So it was free so that should tell you right there it has major issues right? :-) Anyways here is what I know.. This Jetski was working fine about 1 1/2 years ago.. When last used this person managed to roll the jetski in the water.. Did manage to turn it back over upright and got it started back up and went home.. They parked the jetski in the back yard on the ground and it has sit since then... I now have the PWC in my garage... Here is what I have done. I took the gas tank out and removed all the old fuel from it and all the lines. Placed a new battery on it since the old was was toast after sitting in the nice Florida sun for almost two years. Also of course placed new plugs etc.. Just the general things you would always do. Anyways the engine turned over about 6 times then I started getting clicks.. Like a bad battery. I checked the battery and its fine .. Is this the starter or is the engine maybe now locked up? I figure its not the engine since I saw it turn over at least 6 times... and when I removed the plugs the engine did not have any rust etc.

OK Engine is not locked. I can grab the shaft that goes to the rear and rock it back and fouth about1-2 inches.. So at least now I know the engine is not locked up.

Please help.. Signed very confused and dont know what im Doing .

hey...Do compression check, with plug wires grounded onto posts Next, with it rolled, open up box where plug wires go into, maybe water in there/rusted up on post. Then go thru fuses, if ok, where cable from battery to that box, you'll see 2 post, jump those post with heavy gauge wire/screwdriver. If wants to kick, then solenoid bad..

Thanks for the advice... I will do the compression check on it next.... However now that I have had a chance to explore this ski a little more I got a glimpse of the starter.... Wow is it ugly it has stuff all over it and appears to have rusted pretty bad... Bad enough that I can see some holes all the way through it.. Going to need to replace not matter what's wrong with the Sea Doo. Question how do you remove what you can barely see? I assume all of the exhaust has to be removed...and that looks challenging since some of the bolts are in a very tight spot. Any and all advise accepted :-)
