those are good tips, thanks! Osoyoos is a great place, love going down there, even in the winter for the kids hockey tourneys.

we moved from Vancouver to West Kelowna in 2004 and then in 2013 we move to Vernon.

Well done, hope to escape the LML at some point too but reasonable jobs, happy with the school kids are in... etc... Okanagan is pretty cool - series of lakes in the middle of a dessert (and rain forests in the same province, not a bad place to live).

It is a great boat, you will have an awesome time with it. So fast, so much fun to drive, great for doing spin outs, towing, and anything else, jet boats are the best. The supercharged rotax engines really are great, so powerful, such great noises with the supercharger whine, and the revs are awesome too. We have a 2012 210 Challenger with 430 twins and it has been a great boat. We have done plenty of saltwater use and it has never had an issue. Pushing 140 hours now with out missing a beat.... knock wood. The only thing to be careful with on these boats is that, the jet pumps seem to become easily clogged with wood and debris.... on lake pleasant in Phoenix Arizona, the water is really full of woody bits and it clogs easily. it can be pretty maddening when you have to idle back to the ramp on one engine and pull it out of the water to get a lodged piece of wood out of the impeller. Hopefully in Canada you do not have the issue. (makes you think about Yamaha's and their clean out port) . never the less it is a great boat and you will love it... we have had ours out to Catalina island CA about a 30 mile open ocean crossing from Newport Beach CA. It handled it great.

I have some videos of it on my youtube channel if you want to check them out.....https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTlkdGibArx1ThVcPABlBnvd-lhcovWmK

thanks Shane, also, when the impeller does got clogged, whats the best way to clear things out?

nice pics, boat looks great!

Sometimes you can just shut the side off that's having the issue and idle around and move water through the clogged side..... but sometimes you have to literally pull it out of the water and get under it and clean it out.

Great boat! We bought one last year and absolutely love it. It is possible to surf behind it. We had a few people go ropeless. We put close to 50 hrs on last year without any issues. Ours has 70ish hrs now. We have added over the winter 700 lbs of ballast and fabricated a wakeplate

Yes, bought the boat back in January and it was at an indoor storage facility until a couple of weeks ago when we brought it home. Been pretty wet out here so all i have done is cleaned out the inside. The Fulton trailer jack handle is broken so ordered a new one. I noticed a trailer hub dust cover is missing but can't seem to find where i can order a replacement

Is there a trick to uploading pictures to the forums? i have tried but they don't appear and i am not getting an error message?

1) Press the insert image button
insert image 01.jpg

2) Use the browse button and select a JPG file. Only select one file at a time. Use a smaller JPG; they seem to work the best.

3) Then press the words Upload
insert image 02.jpg

Hope this helps.

so took the boat out for the first time, was certainly fun to drive and way more power than our bayliner 175 with the 3.0L merc. Now I noticed a couple of things:

-First was that when idling, looking at the back of the boat, i could see a mist/steam coming out from the water, that must be the exhaust coming through?
-it was very responsive on the throttle and it sounded great, noticed that after while something happened, and when hitting the throttle, it felt like the boat was vibrating, not sure what was going on, power didn't feel the same. then i moved in and out of neutral a couple of times and all was good, and drive for another 45 minutes and that never re-occured, not sure what to make of it.

We have that clear plastic glass that separates the bow and the rest of the boat that can be opened to stop the breeze, i noticed i am missing about 3 screws, any places on-line that i can check on for ordering them?

thanks!

Stuff out the back, steam and exhaust.
The shudder: cavitation in the pump. Might need to check your wear ring and prop. Otherwise it can be the carbon ring sucking air. Mine had both.
Screws: I replaced a lot of mine out the stainless steel section in the hardware store. Take one out and go down the store. You might be able to find a match.

Congratulation on getting your boat out.

thanks X, didn't even think of checking the local hardware store for the screws, will do that.

Can i check the wear ring on my own? When you say prop, what exactly do you mean by that, there is no propeller, is that impeller?

thanks cheappc, i'll get some more pics soon

The mist and bubbles are totally normal.... also you probably had some debris in your jet pump that caused the vibration and cavutation. Sounds like it cleared itself out though.

so took the boat out again, and got the kids tubing, 30 minutes into it, I heard that sound again and engine rev'd high boat wasn't really moving. put it in and out of reverse and still no luck, it would rev high, and make a weird rumbling sound but not really move fast at all. then the display put a warning that one of the engines was going to overheat so i shut it down.

we sat around for a while and then i jumped in the water and tried to check and see if anything was in the intake grates, couldn't see or feel anything. started it up again, but no luck, still would rev high and not really move, so I limped along back to the dock.

Any thoughts on what and how to diagnose this myself? Don't want to take the dealership if i don't have to.

thanks!

i'll put it out there again!!
cavitation, wear ring is shot.
i would say that the exhaust was going up in temp because not enough water though the jet pump from the cavitation.

how difficult is it to get at the wear ring?

you have to take the pump off, not hard. just do some research here. socket set/torque and extension bar and impeller tool (get from ebay).
once you learn the removal of the pump, you can save big $$ doing yourself. impeller/wear ring and pump bearing servicing.

I got underneath the boat today and took a look at both intake grates and couldn't see anything stuck in either, from my untrained eye, the impellers looked fine. I attached a hose adapter to each engine and fired up the port side first, rev'd it up and it seemed ok. Fired up the starboard side and once I tried to rev it up, it started to make that hard kind of sound i heard on the lake. Makes sense as the engine display when we were on the lake did say the starboard exhaust was heating up. So as far as i can tell, it could be the wear ring on the starboard side.

I checked around ebay but it seems even when searching for the impeller tool for a 4-tec, in a lot of the auctions, they mention other engines besides the 215hp. Don't want to purchase the wrong one.

thanks,
