I have this old Rusty 6'4" surfboard that I got about 12 years ago. It has been a great board and most of the best rides of my life were on it. It has been everywhere with me--California, Texas, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Hawaii twice.
After I got the Challenger last summer, I decided to add some traction pads that have detachable foot straps on it so I can surf it behind the boat.
I think I pissed off the surfboard's spirit...
Since I put the straps on it, it has never been in the water. Every time I take it anywhere, something happens that makes it so I cannot use it.
As soon as I bought the pads and applied them, the motor threw a rod in the challenger.
First time I took it to the river on the new motor, wind picked up and chopped up the water.
Next time I took it to the river, cold front blew through and made it too chilly to get wet.
First time to the lake, wind again and 6 foot chop.
Then last week I figured I would take it to the beach and get towed behind the XP and again, cold front blows through and it gets too chilly.
Then today, loaded it up in the truck to take it to the beach for the XP again, and I was actually IN the truck, engine started, and my wife calls. She just got a last minute appointment to get in to the podiatrist to get some work done on her hurt foot. Guess what, I have to drive her in case they mess with the foot too much.
Anyone know what I can do to ease the spirit so that it will quit interrupting my ability to use the board?
