Haunted Surfboard?

I have this old Rusty 6'4" surfboard that I got about 12 years ago. It has been a great board and most of the best rides of my life were on it. It has been everywhere with me--California, Texas, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Hawaii twice.

After I got the Challenger last summer, I decided to add some traction pads that have detachable foot straps on it so I can surf it behind the boat.

I think I pissed off the surfboard's spirit...

Since I put the straps on it, it has never been in the water. Every time I take it anywhere, something happens that makes it so I cannot use it.

As soon as I bought the pads and applied them, the motor threw a rod in the challenger.

First time I took it to the river on the new motor, wind picked up and chopped up the water.

Next time I took it to the river, cold front blew through and made it too chilly to get wet.

First time to the lake, wind again and 6 foot chop.

Then last week I figured I would take it to the beach and get towed behind the XP and again, cold front blows through and it gets too chilly.

Then today, loaded it up in the truck to take it to the beach for the XP again, and I was actually IN the truck, engine started, and my wife calls. She just got a last minute appointment to get in to the podiatrist to get some work done on her hurt foot. Guess what, I have to drive her in case they mess with the foot too much.

Anyone know what I can do to ease the spirit so that it will quit interrupting my ability to use the board?

Brady Bunch Hawaii Episode

Didn't you remember? You cannot remove the Tiki Statue from the Hawaiian island!:reddevil:

I plan on using it this morning around 9:30. I will let you guys know if something else gets in the way.

I am thinking about blessing the water (peeing in it) and just getting the damned thing wet. Maybe that will appease the spirits.

Good idea, let me know if you need more pee........

It was surprisingly easy to get up considering that I have never done this before. Hopped right up on the first attempt, and rode it for about 6-7 minutes.

It was also quite fun and maneuverable.

Water was wind-chopped so I only rode once, but at least I got a chance to see if it would even work with my big ole butt on it.

how are you doing this?? are you useing a rope or just wakesurfing along side the boat??

my girlfriends grandpa has a hard-on for making this huge azz surfboard like one he had made back when he was a young "whipper". it has a rope hooked to it with a handle to hold onto and then you hook a rope from the board to the boat. make sense?? doesnt to me either but what ever. i just tell him that they make wakeboards now so that people dont have to make their own death devices.

The XP and Challenger don't put out enough wake to surf on, especially with a 6'4" short board. I am strapping my feet in and being towed on the ski rope. Just holding on to the handles like the big wave surfers do it when getting towed into moster surf.

We get some pretty big surf out here periodically, double overhead and sometimes bigger, but they don't have the power to catch with a shortboard being paddled in. But I am sure if dad pulls me in with the XP, and I already have the speed and am already standing up when I drop in, I should be able to catch some pretty killer rides!!!

Link is not of me. But sample of what I plan on doing. I am just waterskiing right now.

if you try to attack some tides like that video i think maybe you should where 2 lifejackets:p and make a video so we can see!!

Naw, the stuff around here is only 10-12 foot on really big days. If it is bigger than that it is usually accompanined by 80-120 mph winds which tend to chop them up a little.:reddevil:

Texas Waves

Scoop those waves look just like the ones on North Padre!!! lol...:reddevil:.. I just lied

Yeah, well the saga continues. Had the board and innertube loaded in the truck and ready to go to the lake, made it as far as work where I keep the boat in storage, and got seriously ill with flu, wife had to drive me home and unload the truck. Spent the next 2 days in bed...:ack:

Swine!!! lol hope ya get better.. I broke motor mounts and drive shaft coupler yesterday on xp !!
