Help. I am leaving tomorrow for a trip and never thought after only 5 hours I would have a problem. I took the ski in for winterizing last year. I hooked the battery back up and put the DSS on the post. As soon as I do this, a motor/pump starts running under the engine. I get no beeps and the motor/pump just keeps running.

I am hoping that this is normal for the first start of the season after winterizing and that the pump is trying to bring in water to the engine. Since I have it in the garage and not in the water it will not prime and therefore won't start.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appriciated.

This is my first jet ski and this was going to be a big family weekend for the Fourth.

Welcome to the seadoo forum Steve. It's a good thing you didn't wait till the last minute to get your seadoo running...what pump is running? Do you mean the fuel pump? It needs to get up to pressure to allow the engine to start. It should only take a few seconds to do so. It has nothing to do with being in the water. If the battery isn't fully charged or if is bad it won't beep and it wont start. If you charge the battery disconnect it from the seadoo so you don't have a power surge to the other electrical components, and cause more problems. Keep us posted on your progress. Well help get it running.

Still won't start, no beeps, leaving tomorrow

Hello again

I charged the battery, it's at about 90%. Cleaned the DESS and post with soap and water. When the DESS is attached, a motor starts running (fuel pump I assume), the gauges go through a check and go out, and that is it. No beeps at all. Fuel pump continues to run and nothing happens.

I am going to charge the battery all night and see what happens (out of the jet ski of course). If this does not work and I still get no beeps, what do you think?

Again, the ski worked fine last year, got winterized by the dealer, and won't work now.

Steve, it's possible that the battery can be charged up but have a bad cell and not produce the amps needed to start the seadoo. You might want to get it load tested at like Auto Zone for free, to be sure it is in good shape. It sounds like it isn't getting enough power.
