The oil light came on and the display says low oil, the tank looks to be 3/4 full, there is milky oil residue and water inside the hull and after leaving in water overnight there was about 4-5 inchs of water inside hull. Have I got one problem or two? Any Ideas? only 40 hours on 2003 model

It is possible that the oil sending unit is indication it is low with the oil being at 3/4 full...add oil and see if the light goes out. The milky residue is from oil and water mixing. Look around for a source of oil leaking into the hull. Seadoo recommends not to leave your seadoo in the water for any extended period amount of time. Check also for any areas that could leak water into the hull. Start looking at the Impeller shaft behind the engine under the black boot.

I hope this helps.

water and oil in hull

Thanks Karl,
It looks like the oil reservoir has excess oil on outside, has there been any history of cracking reservoirs?
We usually leave the ski's in the water over the weekend due to ramp access, are you suggesting that is too long, or "just better safe than sorry" to leave them in the water????

It sounds like the seam on the reservoir might be the culprit. Wipe it clean and keep an eye on it. I believe the new on is like $75.00. I have see people get the old one "plastic Welded" and work well after words. It should cost like $20.00 or less to repair if you have a plactic welder company near by. As for leaving you seadoo in the water over the weekend ... I personally try to never leave mine in over night... If I get stuck with a low tide in the winter and I can't get on my lift, I check it all night just in case... then I pull my Jet Boat out at first chance and do a super cleaning on it. It is better safe than sorry...
