2003 GTI le Rfi only starts with 1 plug removed

Recently purchased a 2003 GTI Le RFI and was told motor (787) had been rebuilt but was leaking oil (possibly rotary valve) into one cylinder. Tried starting with new plugs but no start, removed front plug and it starts but rough, did blow oil out of cylinder, removed both plugs and turned over for 10 sec to clear oil, put plugs back in and same thing with starting on only back plug, installed new battery but same, also I was told the mpem was replaced and new starter was installed. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Did a compression check and had 150 and 0, should have checked before i purchased, not sure what caused

Something let go, probably a wrist-pin bearing.
