GSI live without info display

I have a 1997 GSI with a faulty info display. It has apparently gotten moisture under the face and the digital numbers are garbled. I am having on-going MPEC fuse blown issues and wonder if this display unit could be the cause. My question is would the MPEC function OK and thus my GSI start and run with the LCD display completely disconnected?

Yes, it would, with the info gauge disconnected the ski will start and run.
