Hey guys, i have a 98 gtx limited. Are there any grease zerks/nipples on this machine that should be hit every maintenance?

Yea, right behind the engine is a grey plastic cover it has some(maybe 2) wing nuts on it. Take it off and you should see a zerk fitting. Dont grease it to much though, I think you can push stuff out of place.

Sorry I dont know the technical terms on anything.

Hope it helps

quick question about the 1998 gtx's what motor do they have in them? Im pretty sure it the 800 but is it the same 800 as in a 96/97 xp?

I believe there was no changes in the 800(787) engines except for the limited number of XPs that were over bored to get into the race class.

edit: and yes 1998 GTX had the 787 motor

98 GTX has a 951 engine in it. 97 XP does not have a grease zerk on the PTO flywheel as it has a rubber coupler rather than a splined shaft.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The 98 GTX Limited has a 951 and the GTX RFi has a fuel injected 800.

It was for emissions. The 800 RFI was port injection and was used until 2005.
In 2000, they offered a 951 DI (direct injection) engine that was used until 2006.
