General Maintenance

Hi,

I am new to jetski's and was wondering what general maintenance should I be doing on a regular/ illregular basis to maintain my 2002 GTX 4 Tec?

I am a fairly handy sort of bloke, so I want to do all my own work on the GTX. I have seen some people spray paint into the intake grate, was also wondering what this achives?

Big monkey, in the manual is a section on maintenance on different hours of use. Then details of what has to be done in its category. If you not sure on it's different procedure give us a holler back. As for the paint...all it's gonna do is make a mess. I would spray wd-40 to cut the salt residue and give it a protection against short term corrosion of the elements.

I have had a look at the manuals, I own a 2002 GTX 4 TEC.

I connot see the 4tec on the 2002 manuals list, however, it is on the 2003 muanual list. Which one would I be better sticking to and printing off? (didnt want to waste the paper.lol)

Well Ryan, you could print off some of each if you wanted to. As a member you pay per month. I would print off all the 4-tec engine information as all years of the 4-tec engines are the same. Than browse the manuals and determine which has more of the info you need in the up coming weeks of the month. I printed a lot of the torque specs and assembly specs for what I needed, and just keep a book mark on line of other interest items to browse for members. If you need a copy for the garage it is real handy to print off a page or 2 and throw them away after you done doing you project. Clean pages are just a button away on the computer.
