Garbage can idea?

I have a crazy idea but it might actually work...

As you know with 5 or 6 people on our boats, space can get very tight.

Wondering if it would be possible to remove one of the cupholder inserts and so that I could put empties through it...

This would go directly into the storage compartment as a trash receptical.

Has anyone tried this with any luck before?

Does anybody know how the cup holder inserts are secured?

Just pull them out. They are just snug.

I replaced all of mine with nice Stainless Steel cup holders... The old ones just pull out and then you have an open hole so it should work for what you are looking to do. Good luck !
