Hi my names Aaron

I recently bought a 1997 GS Sea doo.
Everything was going fine until i went to take it out the second time ever.
I forgot to put the bungs in and the jet ski filled with water as soon as i realised this i pulled it into shore and drained it.
I then was able to get it going after a few atempts and had a play, but when i got it home i went to start it to clean it and it would not start.
Since then i have replaced the spark plugs and let the engine turn over to shoot the water out. I have since had it going but took along time to start. I have also replaced the battery.
It still does not want to start like it use to and sometimes beeps when i press the start button, is there anything else that i can do or could ther ebe something else wrong that i dont know of?
Please help
Thanks

anytime a engine gets water in it , it should be purged of the water a quick as possibale and then run it out on the lake/ocean
two stroke engine can gather water in the bottom end and it can be hard to remove by running on the flush hose
get her out there as soon as possibale and run her for a while
this should have been done that day!!!
as for the long beep, pull any and all electric connections and make sure there is not water in them, open up any electric boxes and inspect
spray some wd-40 onto any suspect connections
remove your seat and front tray to let the poor thing dry out!!
letting the hull dry out should be done ever time you ride and is the easiest and best way to extend the life of any jet ski, new or old
good luck

Same thing happened to my xp951 after i lost the rear hatch and the engine bay was submerged.

got ski going eventually after shooting water out of plug holes. First time on the water ski wouldn't go over 4500rpm and was hard to start. I sprayed wd40 everywhere and let it dry for a week with the top open.

Been fine since

another thing that may have happened, you may have a little water in the electrics box if so you may have damaged the starter.
as for the long beep that means that the battery is bad or you have bad connections the same thing happened to my ski

dry out the ebox and start it up. Bet money on it, you still have water in the system.

well, my 90 sp submerged overnight when we forgot to reinsert the bung. but all we ended up having to do was pull it and run it for 20 seconds out of water and the line that leads from the crankcase to the fuel pump we disconnected and that succesfully ruined the vacuum seal in the crankcase and pissed water and oil everywhere. that's all we did and we ahven't had engine problems since. that was nearly 8 or 9 years ago too.
